Dutch general election[edit]

Your opinion? I think the coalition would be VVD-D66-CDA-VOLT. Kevs Ping! 07:04, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

? Kevs Ping! 20:09, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Aye, sorry! I've been having a busy day. (Seriously, I had to go to a customer to do data recovery and I learned about an open letter about RMS that we really should incorporate on RW and aaaaa tons of stuff). VVD-D66-CDA-VOLT would be good but unlikely. D66 and VOLT match up fairly well. There was a scandal today about Kasja Ollongren (organizer of the election and initial explorer for a possible coalition, D66) planning to "reassign" Pieter Omtzigt (he's the guy banging about the toeslagenaffaire for the past 7 years or so and is probably the most popular politician in the Netherlands right now), so I see no possibility that CDA isn't becoming a third party at this point, although it wouldn't be weird if CDA melted down spontaneously because of the fact that their leader, De Jongen, is meanwhile the least popular politician in the Netherlands who isn't a fringe party leader. VOLT seems unlikely however because they're a new factor, and because of the fact that VVD wants to try adding CU to the mix first. Basically, a lot of options are open right now and the status quo has at least been shook. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 21:23, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Can you as a mod do something about GC?[edit]

I don't think a coop is going to stop the shitstorm. We need actual mod action. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 21:33, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes DO! MOD LOCK MY FUCKING TALKPAGE SO PEOPLE WON'T FUCKING COME AND TRY TO STIR SHIT AND CLUTTER UP MY MAIN EMAIL INBOX!!! ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 21:35, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
GC, calm down. If you can't make comments without getting angry at people, I'll give you a short term block to cool off (with rights removed). I will notify that in the current coop if that happens as per procedure. CR already modlocked your talkpage. Techpriest (I am Alpharius! / Pencil.png / Tux icon.png / Shield.png) 21:42, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Oh no[edit]

Hello, United Nations here.

The coop case is already archived, I know. I didn't propose it, I didn't endorse it. GC came unprompted to me, not the other way around. GC blocked me a few times, I unblocked him a few times, and am concerned with his well-being, whether he believes it or not. Some of my posts on his (and others) talk pages were deleted, which might not be in accordance with policy, but no big deal, I understand if people don't want me in their talk pages. I was told to pluck yew and a few other things, to which I never responded in kind (and never would). Many assumptions were made about me (must be a nazi jew, rich and powerful), but let folks think what they will.

But, in light of this:

"UninspiringNickname's comments are frankly straight up bigotry however. It's not good that GC melted down the way he did (even if I can get where he's coming from with UN), but I'll be honest that, had I been involved in the discussion more (as opposed to looking into it afterwards and shaking my head and fearing that I'd be seen as vindictive if I had taken action), I'd probably have ATIMed or Cooped UN for bigotry."

And in light of your being a cis male mod, with me having a degenerate, full-on appetite for bullies bigger than me, and actually being an activist instead of a back-seat driver... you've hit that spot. Perhaps you didn't know it. Perhaps you didn't mean to. But I absolutely demand a coop case against me now. If you need any encouragement, I think you're an inconsequential, privileged, bigoted cis male (which I actually do, not just trying to bait you). I also think I will be slightly less polite than usual, but not a miscreant. You might also have mistaken my politeness for weakness, and I am very willingly challenge that. Oh so willing.

Please go on. Do the right thing. UninspiringNickname (talk) 00:29, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

Sirius isn’t a cis male, not sure where you got that impression. Christopher (talk) 00:30, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
@Christopher then it seems I assumed incorrectly, in which case I apologise to him and you. Still a mod, though, my demand still stands. UninspiringNickname (talk) 00:43, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
Sirius, in light of recent events, I feel the need to consciously remind you of this...ignore the "demand." Don't feed the troll.-Flandres (talk) 01:01, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
@Flandres Regard me as troll if you want to. You are well within your rights to think so, and I won't try to persuade you otherwise. This is just the hill I will die on, regardless of either you or Sirius understanding it. Call me weird, I might be just that. Sorry if it's all just a waste of your time. UninspiringNickname (talk) 01:37, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
Neither cis, nor a male as Chris said. Anyway no, I have no interest in starting a coop case over a discussion that as I said before, I was too checked out of to keep an active eye on. Just for now be aware that if you try pushing Ace exclusionism into articles that my patience for your shit will drastically shorten. Help[edit]

Hi, Sirius, how would one make another userpage for storing videos and quotes and stuff? Roman Sionis tends to be inactive during summer 18:49, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for taking a while to get to you (as you may have seen, other messages got to me first). The best way is to just make it a subpage. So something like User:IRonMan/My Cool Stuff would fit. Just keep in mind that you do have to adhere to the CS with your userspace, even if you don't have to adhere to the mission. TERF glossary[edit]

Bringing this here to avoid flooding the TERF glossary talk page. The belief in question isn't being attributed to anyone specific. I don't really see how legal concerns would apply? But your point about the necessity of sourcing is a good one. And I generally do source things but sometimes conflicting interests can get in the way (not wanting to platform hate or potentially put less prominent people in the crosshairs).

Christopher has now shown up to edit war and argue over my contributions multiple times in the last month or so. If I were a heavy contributor I would expect that we might bump into each other incidentally. But what are the chances someone makes a fuss over my contributions to the HAEs article and then just coincidentally wanders into the one other topic area in which I had previously made substantial contributions? Someone looking at this from the outside might think I should assume good faith and not connect a past incident to a current one. But Christopher's approach to the HAES dispute left a bad taste in my mouth. Specifically, that he was OK with a mean-spirited fatphobic joke in the version of the article he restored. I tried to let it go afterward, since other participants in the HAES fracas made similar (and sometimes worse) comments, and I wasn't a perfect example of grace under pressure myself. But now, in light of my past experience, I cannot approach this new dispute as if the slate were clean. I've also looked at Christopher's talk archives, and I'm not the only contributor who's encountered turbulence in engaging with him, it seems.

I never said I personally find "trans women are men" rhetoric so distressing that I need to completely avoid it. I mean, I find it deeply cruel and disgusting on a human level, but I can face it in the intellectual sense. I said I was trying to be mindful in how I worded my additions to the article lest readers be inadvertently distressed. (I'm cis and thus maybe a bit overcautious in that regard.) Until yesterday the TERF glossary was part of the Transgender glossary article, so there was no way to avoid brushing up against TERF rhetoric and ideas when one looked up a trans-related term like, say, "spiro." I also said I find it "mentally corrosive" having to slog through the amount of TERF sludge it takes to research an article/section. And, if I'm being perfectly honest, it's emotionally taxing, too. One cruel TERF tweet, taken in isolation, is a drop in an ocean. It's the rotten apple in the barrel of humanity. But, when you're watching this relentless flood of vicious cruelty, it wears you down. I am a cis woman and a feminist. I have felt the same anger at harassment and dismissal by cis men as TERFs. And I'm left to ask: why? Why are they attacking people being hurt by the very same system that is hurting them? Why are they making life harder for my friends? I recognize it's entirely my choice to expose myself to TERF hate speech. But I'd rather my time and spoons (I get migraines) go toward creating needed articles than addressing a single editor's stream of complaints.

Going forward, I don't really see how I can continue, short of an interaction ban. I don't even know if that's a thing here. And even if it is I'm not sure I'd want to go through the process needed to secure one. "Pick your battles," as the saying goes. Splainer (talk) 13:58, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

Do you not think you’re blowing this out of proportion? I make a lot of edits, the chances of me stumbling upon your contributions twice completely independently really isn’t that low. In the last few days I’ve demoted you back to sysop (and briefly to ninja, although I promoteded you when you said you wouldn’t use it), agreed with your proposition to split off transgender glossary from TERF glossary, and then removed one sentence you added to that article over a month ago, leading to a disagreement on the talk page that appears to have mostly been us misunderstanding. Hardly the behaviour of someone with a grudge.
You won’t convince Sirius (or anyone for that matter) that I’m a problem user by citing my disagreements with Mariosuperstar77, and that’s all you’ll find in my talk page archives. Christopher (talk) 14:15, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

I would like to change my username to "Roman Sionis" My old handle 1) was stupid and 2) now carries for me the memories of some unpleasant past blunders on RW on my part. Banned Sock[edit]

What does this addition to the sock template achieve that isn't achieved by the banned template? 𝒮𝑒𝓇𝑒𝓃𝑒 talk 00:31, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

There was a concern that usage of dedicated user sock templates would result in a "Greatest reel" of banned trolls that are looking for attention, even though the sock isn't always obvious, even if they do end up revealing themselves later. As a result, to avoid creating dedicated templates and give dickbags like Ken or Mike attention, it's better to muddle up their appearance in the existing sock template; it avoids giving anyone looking for them an easy access point. Oxy[edit]

Oxy wants back. I don’t know what you did with her account, so I’m passing the buck to you. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 22:33, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

“no matter how much I beg don't unblock me” should at the bare minimum mean you wait a few days before letting Oxy back. When she next LANCBs (even if she decides against coming back this time, she’ll be back at some point), maybe be more realistic and make that explicit. Put a number on it, maybe three days, maybe a week, after that time is up only unblock her if she asks again. Christopher (talk) 22:39, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
If you can get her to confirm that she wants her account back with the previous reminder in 3 days (as in, reply here again in 3 days), I'll honor the request as per Chris. Techpriest (talk) 11:11, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
🙄 And she changed her mind. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 20:42, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
I'm not suprised. The main reason she seems to keep wanting to come back is to participate in bar fights or in arguments on talkpages. I consider the 3 days a useful doorstop to this. Techpriest (talk) 20:45, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Czechia[edit]

Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to ask you, why do you revert edits in case of Czechia when the short name of other countries is used. There is a big defference between the English Wikipedia and RationalWiki since the name of the article about Czechia is ‘Czechia’. In the case of the English Wikipedia it is ‘Czech Republic’ Thank you for your answer. --Martin Tauchman (talk) 16:00, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

The short of it is that you were making a naked attempt to move over Wikipedia related drama (I'm not even gonna pretend that youre not the BON). The name of the country in question has been in dispute with drama and arguments going as far as I can tell back as far as 2016 on there. I realize our article on this country is Czechia, but at the same time a lot of our articles still reference to it as the Czech Republic. Looking at the entire dispute as it was hashed out, the result seems to be that reliable sources do not have solid coverage on one name over the other just yet, which makes this not a solid enough situation where I would say that we should go for Czechia in every single article. It is a mostly harmless thing since the page for the Czech Republic is just a redirect to Czechia, so there are no issues with potholing links to the wrong article and your unilateral change without discussion is spammy as hell. As a result, I reverted it and blocked your IP for 3 days. If you want to make this change, please do state your case somewhere relevant (the Bar might be a good place since this spans across multiple articles on the wiki) and see what the community decides. Techpriest (talk) 16:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
This user is evading an IP block - as such I have blocked them for the time that the IP block will expire. --Gale5050 (talk) 16:18, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Not needed. The IP block was to get them to stop spamming. I'd have thrown them in the vandal bin if they weren't an IP. Techpriest (talk) 16:19, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Hmm....ok....I can vandalbin instead. Not now though, feel free to do it your self.--Gale5050 (talk) 16:25, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Note for posterity; Gale blocked the previous user. I've since send Gale a message on their talkpage that this stuff is really annoying. Martin, please state your case in the Bar or something that offer still stands. Techpriest (talk) 16:36, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
I'm personally not convinced that this is an issue worth of doing a whole lot of work over as there doesn't seem to be great consensus. We're at the state where the United Nations calls the country "Czech Republic", the European Union calls the country "Czechia", and both are correct per ISO 3166. In the United States of America, both the long form, abbreviation (USA), and the geographically-kinda-incorrect "America" are acceptable, no one I know of cares one way or the other. There seems to be "more debate" for various reasons on the name for CZ. I will note that "Czechia" fits better with the title of the country on the Czech Wikipedia page (Česko), but, naturally, there's a long discussions on renaming that article to Česká republika, where (naturally) no consensus really was reached. It's that kind of name I guess. PanGalacticGargleBlaster (talk) 16:56, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
OK, I have posted this problem on the Saloon bar page so everyone could discuss the topic. --Martin Tauchman (talk) 19:10, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Election ballot reader[edit]

Thank you for volunteering to help with the ballot counting for the upcoming election. It's good to have at least two people independently run the results. The software is relatively easy to setup and use. I run my setup under MacOS but any platform that can run python should work fine. Drop me an email and I can send you a snapshot of my setup. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 01:50, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

I'm a seasoned user of Linux (by the way I use arch :p). Anyway, I do have a few questions, mostly to do with setting up and obtaining files. Python is my personal preferred language of choice, so that shouldn't be an issue. I've enabled the email system for a bit on my end anyway so you can try to contact me. Techpriest (talk) 11:02, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Well, what's up?[edit]

Heyo!

I understand that the BoN is clogging up recent changes but... aren't they technically correct? The country IS officially called something else now (even if it's probably of no relevance to any of our readers and it's annoying the janitors here). They don't seem to be malicious, and they aren't inserting anything undesirable into pages. It's certainly nit-picky of them, for sure (who the fuck has time for this anyway? Imagine editing this shit-hole of a website, amirite?)... but maybe we could just, like, let them do it?

Faithfully, - Rairyu75 (Talk) 19:08, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

They're importing drama from Wikipedia. Check wp:Talk:Czech Republic for further details. I am not inherently opposed to this, but the user keeps inserting Czechia into our pages without any discussion with the userbase and when I told them to do it in the saloon (check my talkpage), they were met with opposition. To then just do it again a few weeks later... yeah I wasn't born yesterday. Techpriest (talk) 19:11, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Herp-a-derp, the explanation was staring right at me on this very page. Sorry for interrupting you pal. I'm not very perceptive these days.
That's some weird ass drama though, I must say. Anyhow, apologies again. - Rairyu75 (Talk) 19:16, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
its not something that needed any action to begin with. either version is good - one is the long form and the other short form. they are both valid. if it were im pretty sure you change all instances of czech republic to czechia on mass or vice versa instead of personally changing each instance individually like some kind of deranged obsessed fuckwit AMassiveGay (talk) 19:32, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
Yeah pretty much. As far as I'm concerned, the ISO standard for this says both are valid, so both are valid. It's not a cosmic injustice that needs to be set right. Techpriest (talk) 19:35, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

Sorry, I do not know what is going on. This is the third time I have made a strange edit on a page I visited but did not actually edit it in any way. Sorry about that. Ironic[edit]

I logged into Tor just to confirm it is still usable, end up unintentionally evading a block. Seriously, what is more important, the mainspace or Oxy's feelings? She's the one who started it with me for the umpteenth time. Personally, I'm sick of her shit. As Ace McWicked once said, Oxy is cancer on this site. 2001:67C:289C:0:0:0:0:20 (talk) 20:34, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

So who are you? Stop hiding behind IPs and give me a fucking name. Techpriest (talk) 20:36, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
Good post! Ditto. UShistoryanalyzer (talk) 20:36, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
A name? Ronnie. My name is Ronnie. I'm infrequent here and don't have an established identity, and that is the way I like it. What part of that do you not understand? As a side note, I don't think trolls using Tor is an issue considering I had to refresh the IP 10 times before I got an IP that wasn't in the DNSBL filter. 2A0B:F4C0:16C:5:0:0:0:1 (talk) 20:47, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
Also, most of what I do is boring wikignome type shit and removal of unreferenced, unverifiable shit that is largely uncontroversial, until I pick an article that trolls are obsessed with like the IFB article. 2A0B:F4C0:16C:5:0:0:0:1 (talk) 20:50, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

I think this might be Raven, actually. Unlike David Morris and most CP trolls they at least acknowledge that Oxy is a woman. A very low bar, indeed, but I think it's still a clue. GeeJayK (talk) 21:04, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
I don’t see the point of trying to guess who people are with such little evidence. Christopher (talk) 21:09, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
Whoever they are, it's clear that they only showed up with the intention of harassing someone. Plutocow (talk) 21:11, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
Actually, no I did not, all I did was remove a couple of unreferenced (and inaccurate) claims on an article and happened to do so after my IP refreshed since the last time I edited. Then Oxy came in and reverted it, and it was annoying to see her do that (again). So fuck off with it. 2A0B:F4C0:16C:5:0:0:0:1 (talk) 21:14, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Okay Ronnie, I'm going to try and level here with you and this is a good faith assumption. If as you say you are a wikignome who is just here to keep the place clean and isn't interested in registering, I'll respect that. Here is what I'm going to ask for you to do though; firstly, stop going on a massive spiel against Oxy being an asshole on talkpages whenever it happens with the opening. That might be something you could get away with as a regular user, but as a BON you have to keep in mind that you will be trapped in the limbo of trolls that occasionally show up on the wiki, so we are bound to see your spiels as those of users who have in the past made credible stalking attempts against Oxy.
Secondly, if Oxy reverts something you did, just calmly point it out on a talkpage and don't mention Oxy at first, just mention that your edit got reverted. You don't need to go on user talkpages at users who don't like Oxy to prove a point about her. Usually if you source/dissource (when cleaning up references) an edit and nobody responds then insert/remove it, it'll generally be fine. If she does respond by either blocking you or a discussion, then engage in the discussion if there is one. If she just blocks you, then you have a solid case to complain about Oxy.
Have I made myself clear? Try a good faith engagement, and only if that fails you can complain.
I believe Noir LeSable told you more or less the same thing though. Techpriest (talk) 21:27, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
That sounds fair. I really don't want a fight, I just got mad. Sorry about that. I'm cooling down from it though. 2001:678:E3C:0:0:0:0:B (talk) 21:48, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
Can you do me a favor though and unblock (or at least shorten the block on) 71.215.89.215? Please and thank you. 2A0F:9100:110:A:0:0:0:2 (talk) 01:33, 22 July 2021 (UTC)

Weak oppose. First of all, they just came off a 3.14 week block. A trillion space thankyous (for your information, 1,000 space thank yous [the kind of thank yous you do in outerspace] are worth only 1 Earth thank you...so in reality I have only thanked you a billion times on Earth). :) ShabiDOO 22:05, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Techpriest, unfortunately Machina is reverting the collapses again...despite you previously asking him not to. ShabiDOO 10:14, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
kggggaaah. I'll yell at him. -- Techpriest (talk) 20:53, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Just don't let your mighty hammer destroy the entire wiki with its awesome potency! :) ShabiDOO 22:21, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

Cheers[edit]

Wasn't really expecting all the permissions back after being away for so long, but it feels like home. Funny story: I took a short break when the text-replacer browser plug-ins were all the rage so I could work out if I could filter which sites they applied to and not accidentally muck up RW articles, then got a trapped nerve in my neck which meant I couldn't sit at my computer for ~3 months, then kinda forgot about RW for ages while real life gubbins intervened. Ouch that sounds painful. In any case, welcome back. -- Techpriest (talk) 11:52, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Be crimes do gay[edit]

I bet you didn't think of it that way did you? No, of course not! ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 15:20, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

TS thread[edit]

Please see RationalWiki:Technical_support#Request, it concerns you (Inferno Bot) directly. --Andrew5 (talk) 21:22, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

FYI today[edit]

It aint me but if this is actually concerning https://rationalwiki.org/w/index.php?title=Germany&action=history Neiltyson1fan (talk) 13:02, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

What can I improve on?[edit]

You likely know what I'm talking about. Sounded like there's some other things besides the current issue and I'm always willing to hear.--2friedeggs (talk) 11:39, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

It's a combination of your very rocky history (just look at ATIMs archives that involved you) alongside the more recent incident. Assuming good faith for a second here, the short of the matter is that you need to massively work on your conflict resolution skills instead of pouring gasoline on top of fires. -- Techpriest (talk) 11:48, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
Got it--2friedeggs (talk) 11:49, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

Dutch Farmers Protest[edit]

What do you think about the farmers protest? Monet Ye 07:51, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

Reality playing catch-up. It's been known since the 80s that the farm industry produces way too much CO2 (it's ~40% of our national exhaust), it's just that the farmers have one of the strongest political lobbies, so they were by and large ignored up to 2019. Then a judge struck down standing government orders to basically make everyone else innovate for more climate friendly scenarios but the farming industry because they were in conflict with international agreements made about cutting back CO2 exhaustion (judges in the Netherlands don't get to constitutionally review laws, but they can test laws and policies against international agreements), so we needed new laws (which are about to pass). Again, this was known since the 80s. For that reason, I mainly don't really care about what they have to say - I get they're angry but everyone has to face the music. Life as we know it is about to get a lot more expensive to maintain and we've been living in a comparative paradise (vis a vis rest of the world) and we all have to pay our part to keep it that way. If you bought a farm barn in 2016 and are angry that you're now in debt because of known foreseeable consequences, that makes you a bad businessman, not the government.
As for the protests themselves; they're blockading traffic, threatened to shut down the airport (backed off after the Marechaussee threatened to use combat vehicles) and are causing artificial scarcity in supermarkets (not because they refuse to produce but because those assholes drive like, 20 tractors to a distribution center and barricade the exits). They also keep attempting to drive their tractors into police officers but when one fires a warning shot back because he was about to be hit otherwise (which didn't hit anyone), suddenly the police is at fault and a bunch of farmers go over to the detention center where the dumbass who attempt it is being kept at to try and break them out.
The protest groups are funded by the animal food sector, so frankly it's a corporate protest against necessary legislation with a bunch of useful idiots.
So, no, I don't support them. They're fucking jackasses. -- Techpriest (talk) 08:28, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

the Ethan Ralph thing[edit]

I deleted it earlier based on guidance in the community standards. I've deleted copypasta from wikipedia before with no objections. Could you clarify your stance on this? Thanks. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 22:42, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

The page was removed from Wikipedia due to not meeting their specific BLP rules. Ethan Ralphs significance to mainstream source is basically non-existent outside of Gamergate; Ethan Ralph as an individual on the other hand is definitely within our purview as a crank (basically he's an "internet tough guy" with a fairly long history of being a neonazi not too dissimilar from Michael Coombs in pathetic behavior, including to my understanding starting fights with other cranks only to back out of them later). In addition, my main reasoning for restoring the page was in this case is twofold; first, the person posting the page is the author of the page on Wikipedia (and the person who AfDed it in the first place), this means it's not plagiarism. The other reason is that the contents of the page for the most part don't bother with information irrelevant to our mission; most wikipasta we get has loads of unnecessary crud about the personal lives of the cranks we cover. That's not the case with this one; it's concise, to the point and is outside of tone practically already formatted like a RationalWiki article. Some small work in draftspace to make it fit and it should be relevant to RW. -- Techpriest (talk) 23:01, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the background. I am familiar with the subject of the article from his actions during gamergate, where he largely appeared to grifting off the worst of that crowd. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 23:20, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Unsigned posts[edit]

It looks like if there is an unsigned post at the end of a section, that section will not get archived until someone adds a dated signature to it. Bongolian (talk) 20:48, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

That is by design so you don't accidentally lose post headings. There's a template to add a signature that goes back beyond the archive date over at Template:Request_archive. Make sure to substitute it. -- Techpriest (talk) 21:18, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
OK, thanks. Bongolian (talk) 21:28, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
