- Bigotry - Ed Poor
- Delusions of Grandeur - RobS (surprise I was sure Ken would take that one)
- Heavy-handed - TK
- Idiocy - Ed Poor
- Inaesthetic - Conservative (actually Freedom 777 and Jallen got perfect 10 but they only received 1 vote each and Ken deserves recognition.)

Arrogance[edit]
Nominations - Arrogance[edit]
TerryH - "Under the authority of Mr. Schlafly, I am now going to oversee this Project in the name of the administration. My qualifications are these: I can read Greek almost as fast as I can read English, and I've begun a study of Biblical Hebrew. I've also been an administrator for a long time, and I would have the time to devote to this Project that oversight would require." ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 13:11, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Don't forget his constant bragging about his 'lexicons' and 'I translated a whole gospel in a week' Broccoli 13:19, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- The whole taking-over-parts-of-the-CBP bit makes TerryH the man to beat in this category (the CBP itself belongs under Delusions of Grandeur. Andy's recent reluctance to accept any of Roger's criticisms of the B.S. in the Relativity was my runner-up, but I think that deserves it's own category for "Greatest HITS (Head-In-The-Sand) Performance". --SpinyNorman 15:48, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Andy - for claiming to be inspired by God and for ignoring criticism in every form. Tetronian you're clueless 17:14, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

The Al Gore - Invention of the Internet Award ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 13:34, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Nice, definitely a front runner. May inventor instead. Did he actual say that or was it mined out of all proportions? - π 13:35, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet.—http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/03/09/president.2000/transcript.gore/
- -- Nx / talk 15:06, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- He claimed to have provided funding for the development of the internet... and it's actually true.
- From WP: Internet pioneers Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn have also noted that, "as far back as the 1970s, Congressman Gore promoted the idea of high speed telecommunications as an engine for both economic growth and the improvement of our educational system. He was the first elected official to grasp the potential of computer communications to have a broader impact than just improving the conduct of science and scholarship [...] the Internet, as we know it today, was not deployed until 1983. When the Internet was still in the early stages of its deployment, Congressman Gore provided intellectual leadership by helping create the vision of the potential benefits of high speed computing and communication. As an example, he sponsored hearings on how advanced technologies might be put to use in areas like coordinating the response of government agencies to natural disasters and other crises."[48] 157.193.206.103 22:59, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- That just goes to show you how government intervention and assistance programs don't work and are waste of tax-payer money. - π 23:38, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- How about the "Andrew Jackson Manifest Destiny" award for arrogance? --SpinyNorman 23:59, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Jesse Helm's Memorial award was a great name. Besides what are they going to do, delete their picture of Jesse Helm's? Although Jpatt will probably move it for no reason. - π 13:29, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Delusions of grandeur[edit]
Nominations - D of G[edit]
ASchlafly - The complete jackass-of-all-trades-master-of-none. ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 12:30, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Andy for the win - the Conservative Bible Project, with his claims of being guided by the Holy Spirit, paired with the scathing condemnation from right-wingers and the WND, makes him untouchable in this category. --SpinyNorman 15:52, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- And don't forget bitch slapping his brother at cp:relativity. Andy FTW indeed. Tetronian you're clueless 15:55, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- We've also forgotten his grandiose attampts to teach history to the kiddies. He wins for that alone in my book. --PsygremlinZungumza! 16:06, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

The 'Let's Rewrite the Bible!' Award for Delusions of Grandeur. - Doesn't that summarise how good they think they are? SJ Debaser 12:45, 29 October 2009 (UTC)<br\>
The Ignatius J. Reilly Award of Grandeur - Honestly, if you read A Confederacy of Dunces, it describes it perfectly. When reading that book I couldn't help but be reminded of those unaware idiots at CP with their misplaced sense of greatness. Hard to imagine that it was written over 40 years ago. --GTac 13:42, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

DouglasA for his blocks of anyone attempting to improve the CBP. Broccoli 13:09, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

TK fo his mass-blocking of anyone. Broccoli 13:09, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Seconded. TK's done more to block or drive away editors and IP ranges than anyone else, and Andy seems to enjoy the silence. --SpinyNorman 15:55, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- His unilateral decision to declare several key editors "retired" before wiping out their user pages and uncomfortable talk-page criticisms is also a standout performance. --SpinyNorman 16:51, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- The award was made for TK. 19:51, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Should we even have this award? - π 00:12, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Tk is too.... easy. Also there's the whole debate about what drives him and his viciousness may well spring from a desire to do harm to CP rather than an innate inner trait. My vote goes to everyone's favourite swabbie, KowardJerk. Bob Soles 00:18, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

- I'm tempted to go with Andy again on this one, on the basis of all the errors in his World History class that he was called out on yet refused to correct. Being an idiot is one thing, but being an idiot paid by others to educate their kids puts you in another category altogether. --SpinyNorman 16:03, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Geo.plrd for his CP medal designs. ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 12:19, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- This was my favorite, with the "Agriculture" medal being a standout. These were done in December 2008, though, so are we doing this on an anniversary-year or calendar-year basis? --SpinyNorman 16:07, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- They were after the last CP Day so should be eligible. Although, like the Oscars, it's often the more recent stuff that comes to people's minds. Unlike Ken's random MainPageLeft additions, the CP Medals were "designed" by someone who claims on their WP user page to ... hold certificates in Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop. BTW, Dentistry was my particular favorite. ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 16:33, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

LOL, MarkGall, if that is even your real name, I've reviewed your edits and it seems obvious you are only here to disrupt this valuable entertaining project with your endless talk, talk, talk. - Maybe we could shorten it a bit (maybe take out the words "running mate")? Tetronian you're clueless 14:51, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- It really works better in the long form, so I'd leave it as-is. Makes me wonder if we need a "Sarah Palin Going Rogue" or "Maverick" category, with PJR as this year's clear winner. --SpinyNorman 16:09, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Nah, that would be designing the category just for one person, which isn't very fair. Tetronian you're clueless 16:29, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- I can see this as a running category. Philip is an extreme case because he went off and founded his own wiki, but I'm also thinking of the inner-circle sysops from 2008 who found that a line was crossed on one or more key issues and decided to leave CP after Andy refused to support them, or his highly-regarded female student who objected to Andy's different "boys & girls" standards before re-succumbing to his authority in the end. --SpinyNorman 16:49, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

After the Soviet collapse, Marxism is a relic, a pathetic anachronism reduced to its last redoubts: North Korea, Cuba, and the English departments of the more expensive American universities,"[2] has now seen the light. Krauthammer now writes, "White House communications director Anita Dunn... [has] been attacked for extolling Mao’s political philosophy in a speech at a high-school graduation.... It's a rare gift when you can get honest feedback on yourself from people.. why not listen to these viewpoints and think about your approach, if you really are convinced of this and are looking to convince others, it might be more effective to relate it another way. But then again, what do I know (not much!) lol. Refugeetalk page 01:53, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Just what the hell does advocating for gay rights have to do with pushing the Moscow foreign policy line? - Not necessarily; in reviewing this material we see Harry Hay (whose vast archives are carried in extensio on the NAMBLA website) credited with "years of service to the party and work as a teacher at the cp:California Labor School." At the California Labor School what links here we have a link to cp:Frank Marshall Davis, Obama's commie mentor (we can link cp:Harry Bridges to the California Labor School, too). I also know that Jensen's response to being accused of plagiarism was to block the accuser (the accusation was made via mail - not on CP). Now address his ignorance on the history issue and still say I'm talking rubbish and copy/pasting stuff you wrote elsewhere is hardly enlightening, especially when it's been shown he also copies across other people's additions to his work. Hell, MC, just think of this as TV - if you don't like what you read here, change chanels, if you don't want your darlin' prof to get an award, don't vote for him. I've actually read one of his books and have nothing but the highest degree of respect for the man - he isn't irrational or guilt by association types like the RW self righteous brigade. - I will say that the one thing I thought he might be guilty of plagiarism on was wrong, and it actually was his work. Turns out the way Citizendium attributes contributions isn't exactly straightforward and made it look like someone else's work. So I own up to that, but I dunno if there's something else people are talking about WRT plagiarism. --Kels 01:41, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- There was a bit of a fight about this at cp:Talk:Potato and somewhere else too, a couple months ago... Dr. Jensen copied a bit from CZ, almost entirely written by him but with a couple sentences added by others. Someone pointed it out and it was fixed after some bickering about licensing. --Pyfgcr 01:48, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

I think an award for paranoia is missing. If the Ramses pun is too annoying, how about the Saint Peter 'Three Times' Award for Denial" --SpinyNorman 21:16, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- I've talked to several people who agree with me that the Ramses pun is great. The problem is that Pi is running this show and determined that the threshold for viability for any voting field is 4 candidates, so you're sort of flopping about on this one unless you can come up with some more people engaged in what I would agree is a persistent strategy at CP. Another problem is that the universe of candidates is so small and their deeds so well known that the categories more or less define themselves and this one hasn't yet gelled. Perhaps next year. I think it's great though. 04:14, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

- Bigotry already covers this. - π 22:06, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Repectfully disagree - I think misogyny should be an award unto itself. How can we not recognize huge numbers of Ed Poorisms such as:http://conservapedia.com/Essay:Women_wearing_pants - quote: "Women wearing pants is cross-dressing. It should be looked down on as much as men wearing dresses." and: http://conservapedia.com/index.php?title=Debate%3AWomen_in_the_Military%3F&diff=56181&oldid=53199 quote: "goes against God-given nature" - Women should not be in combat or combat support, where there at risk of being captured or killed by the enemy. Male soldiers will, by nature, want to rescue them from danger, even at the cost of neglected strategically more important missions." and his many additions to: http://conservapedia.com/Feminism - quote: "Specifically, a modern feminist tends to:... detest women who are happy in traditional roles, such as housewives, and especially dislike those who defend such roles...

I am also nominating ASchlafly for the "test questions should be different for girls than boys" debacle. Refugeetalk page 23:56, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- (How about Phyllis on a visiting professorship?) Just thinking about it, every woman who's made any meaningful contribution has left or been driven out so the whole site could be described as misogynistic; but Andy for his "rules of chivalry" & exam questions. Ed's just a dirty old man. I am eating & honeychat 00:06, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- If we had misogyny we should drop one or two other. We have 13 now and remember there really is only about 25 people that could be nominated for all these awards. - π 00:10, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Besides a misogyny award should be named after Mummy Schlafly. - π 00:25, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Well, if you think there are too many categories and it doesn't warrant it's own award, no problem, include it in Bigotry. I don't think we need to keep it if it means getting rid of another category. I guess it's more of a pet peeve of mine anyway - I stay pissed off daily at the endless entries derogatory to women at CP. lol. Refugeetalk page 01:00, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Last year we had ten awards and I can tell you that was a lot of work. With the multipoll feature voting will be easier, however awards still need to be made, pictures found ect. Works in its own strange way. - π 03:45, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Well, you are running this, really. "Consensus" is what you decide it is, when you decide it is (what awards, who is nominated), since I expect you will be stuck with setting up and announcing the voting in a week or two. And, yes, the wiki operates like a salamander on crack. Just stay on top of things, and do the best you can. If you want help, just ask, but it will only be "help", not management. You be the manager ;) ħuman 03:52, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Anakin Skywalker Award[edit]
I just had an idea for an award for the editor who contains a faint glint of hope buried deep within their fundie interior. Addison comes to mind for this. He has at times displayed something approaching rational thought, and is young enough that there is still hope he may turn into a functioning human being once he is away from the clutches of Andy. Then again I'm sort of against the idea of making awards geared towards specific people. DickTurpis 14:58, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- That would be an interesting category, but there isn't too large of a field. The only people I can think of are Addison and perhaps PJR. Tetronian you're clueless 15:02, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- No, purely on the grounds it mentions Star Wars. - π 15:03, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Fuck you Pi. I want there to be a Theemperor Award. Oh, and stylistically, it should be called the Darth Vader award, as an Anakin Skywalker award would be given to a user here who has a tiny bit of religious fundamentalism buried deep within their black hole of a soul. The Emperor Kneel before Zod!
- I say rename it to the PJR Glimmer of Hope Award, for showing that despite all the loonies, there's one there that still shows some sort of sanity. Kwsn (Ni!) 18:56, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Even if we don't make this a category, it would be interesting to debate whether PJR has a glimmer of hope or not. He did see through Andy's bullshit and TK's power games, but the ASK WIGOs prove that he still is a pretty messed up dude. Tetronian you're clueless 18:59, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Nominations: Philip J Rayment, AddisonDM, Bethany (altho haven't seen her in awhile).Refugeetalk page 20:06, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- I vote no fucking lame Star Wars awards, and Marcus Cicero agree with me in p-mail. ħuman 02:43, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- More important than the name of the award is whether we should have one for this category at all. I wouldn't think PJR would be a candidate, as he's quit CP, and it's far too late for him anyway (he is not about to change), whereas Addison or Bethany at least have the potential to be normal right-leaning people, rather than forever minions of Andy. That would seem to make it a 2 way race, but that seems pretty typical here. DickTurpis 14:17, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

- I say rename it to the PJR Glimmer of Hope Award, for showing that despite all the loonies, there's one there that still shows some sort of sanity. Kwsn (Ni!) 18:56, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- No, purely on the grounds it mentions Star Wars. - π 15:03, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

TerryH & T(Terry)K for bringing opprobrium on the name "Terry". I am eating & honeychat 15:02, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

For being a parodist[edit]
How do we not have this as an award?? There have been plenty of parodists this past year. Tetronian you're clueless 15:10, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Because we are judging people based on their "qualities". Read last years debate for the reasons we avoided it. - π 15:13, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

- I beg to differ, Ken is quite obviously the very embodiment of this award. --GTac 19:26, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

Here's a thought...[edit]
Why dont we do some RW awards. Pat ourselves on the back. AceMcWicked 00:34, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- A little wankey, although if RationalWikiWiki wants to do some. If they do I'll have to start the RationalWikiWikiWiki awards for RationalWikiWiki. - π 00:44, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- EC) And a nice impartial judge would be? Oh of course: Marcus Cicero. I am eating & honeychat 00:46, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, I guess you are right... if it was by vote, I might nominate myself, and then vote myself up to one hundredand eleventy-someodd so I would win, then soon after that would start to feel ashamed of my enormous ego and huge need to win made me do such a thing and hurredly vote myself back down to negative 1000111eleventy and then end up just feeling stupid over then whole thing.. better to just nominate people and have Tmt decide or just have Pi make some more cool plaques and awards and we can stick them all over people's pages that we see doing stuff to say thanks and you've been recognized for your work.. or something. Refugeetalk page 01:22, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- I made Trent a really nice barnstar for relocating the site way back when, and used the underlying layered images to make Bob M one for letting us crash teflonwiki when RW was borked. If anyone wants the raw image tools they're welcome, but I don't think we really need to run around licking each others' genitalia more than we already do... ħuman 02:09, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Award images[edit]
It is going to be supremely difficult to find the pictures we'd like to use for the awards on CP, what with the limited number of people who can upload said images. It has worked in years past, I suppose, but in regards to the suggestions above, we may have issues. I'll mull through their picture albums and find what I can. Aboriginal Noise What the hell is that thing? 01:35, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Shouldn't be that hard, the trick is not to think "image of steaming turd" but to think of "insane public figure". They'll have those images. Also I think we should mock "some of our own" (like Michael Moore) is at least half of these. Like the "Ted Kennedy Memorial Breaststroke Award" for misogyny? ħuman 03:04, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Lifetime achievement awards[edit]
This needs to be discussed more in depth than a passing comment under some of the other awards. This is a really good idea, so we won't just award the same people the same award over and over again each year. Here are some ideas
Delusions of Grandeur: Andy
Liar: TK
Idiot: Ed Poor
Paranoia: RobS
Power-crazed: TK
Any others I'm forgetting? --The Emperor Kneel before Zod! 03:19, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Ed has won biggest idiot twice already. I don't think we need to pension everyone off yet. - π 03:22, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Also paranoia is a new award, liar was won last year by TerryH and Power-crazed was won Bugler - so those aren't the constant winners. - π 03:34, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's more like "retiring an athlete's number" - when someone so pwns an award one year - or more - the award gets named after them, and they get the lifetime award. Ed and Idiot is foregone. So, hence, the "Ed Poor Biggest Idiot on Conservapedia Award". ħuman 04:41, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Richard Lenski Prize for Pwning Andy[edit]
RW's Nobel, if you will. I nominate Fretfulporpentine for Bugler (outed Jan. 09) and Roger for his recent relativity-related sibling bitch-slappery. --Robledo 15:06, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Where are you going to post the awards? The "winners" will probably protect their talk pages and user pages. And the images you're going to use as well. --Harold 16:46, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- It's a shame they're not so boring and would just let us make fun of them. They could do awards of us: I'd welcome it. SJ Debaser 18:35, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- The best use of multiple socks is to keep reposting the awards. Last year I put them on the main page talk, the Conservapedia day page and on each users talk page before guard dog caught me. With guard dog down it should be easier. However lets not get a head of ourselves, it is still a month away. - π 22:37, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe RobS would do it for us? ГенгисIs the Pope a Catholic? 22:52, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

The Tower of Babel Special Award for Supreme Hubris[edit]
Shamelessly expanding on my "Delusions of Grandeur" name suggestion and taking into account the discussion above about fewer awards, I propose combining Arrogance and Delusions of Grandeur into a single award this year. The obvious recipient is Andrew Schlafly. As noted above, the name suggests possibility of divine retribution for sacrilege, and "hubris" is a perfect description of Andy in creating the Conservative Bible Project (and Andy in general). Three days to go[edit]
With only three days until voting is suppose to start I have created polls for the categories that had 4 or more nominees, as I took that to mean that people had an interest in voting for those categories. Please keep nominating the more polls and people the more fun we can have. Please don't open the polls. We can reorder them until they open after that we stuff up the poll if we reorder or remove nominees. - π 22:29, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- Are we limited to one vote per cat or more? SJ Debaser 12:51, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- The mulitipoll extension logs your IP, so if you have more than one you can vote more than once, but otherwise it is one vote per cat. - π 22:04, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Paranoia, inaesthetic and misplace erudition all have three nominations all have three nominees, anyone got a fourth? - π 04:59, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
