There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Delete[edit]

  1. Questionable missionality and unlikely to be updated. Cosmikdebris (talk) 00:21, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
  2. I mean, I'd heard of her in exactly this context as described here. But... not sure there's a mission component in pointing out lame-ass centrists who are lame and asses. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 21:11, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Sounds like someone I might have voted for, but she's not interesting enough to have her own article. Chef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 23:23, 26 July 2018 (UTC) (See below).
  3. -💎📀1️⃣ (talk) 05:42, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
  4. Why did this even get added in the first place? RoninMacbeth (talk) 16:17, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
She was cited in the media a possible crosser on some super public party-line votes, but then didn't. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 16:50, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
That's a pretty crappy reason. Delete. RoninMacbeth (talk) 16:53, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
  5. No point.—チーズバーガー • めん Spinning-Burger.gif (talkstalk) 00:18, 5 August 2018 (UTC)

Keep[edit]

  1. She is a good example of what politics should be about, moderation and compromise. Nerd (talk) 13:00, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
  2. A Republican with some level of sanity in this day and age? Clearly this article is as valuable as the sighting of a Unicorn. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 15:56, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
  3. Olympia Snowe's story demonstrates how liberals and conservatives are becoming increasingly polarized and the space for moderates is vanishing. Spud (talk) 14:01, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
  4. Keep. It's worth writing about these kinds of people and I already said, she's among those in the party that realize how rotten to the core the GOP has currently become. — Unsigned, by: LeftyGreenMario / talk / contribs
@LeftyGreenMario You forgot to sign, miss! Nerd (talk) 23:53, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
    Oh, poop. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 05:27, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
  5. I've retracted my previous vote to delete and now wish for this article to stay. This is due to the recent additions and revisions done by @Nerd. Well done! Chef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 17:41, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
  6. Keep, as per others. Bongolian (talk) 17:50, 4 August 2018 (UTC)

Goat[edit]

  • I don't support delete but more of a brief mention in a list of the more moderate people who served in the party. Why she left is pretty notable thing, as she echoes sentiments expressed by other former Republicans. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 20:41, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
  • Same as above. Nerd (talk) 13:13, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
  • A moderate Republican would fit in the Cryptozoology category these days. It'd be a shame to lose all the content even if it's hard to justify the missionality. --Gospatric (talk) 10:48, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
I've found all the moderate republicans ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 16:07, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Maybe it needs some rewriting to emphasize that she retired from politics because she thought the Republicans were going too right-wing. I think that needs to be briefly mentioned in the introduction. Really, until I got to the penultimate paragraph, I was thinking, "Seems like a nice lady. But so what?" I can't help thinking that she'd be more mission-worthy if instead of retiring she'd crossed the floor and joined the Democrats. Or if she'd given interviews since retiring in which she'd criticized the Republicans and Trump (which I assume she hasn't). Spud (talk) 15:40, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
@Spud She has, in fact. She is easily under the radar. It takes a stealth fighter to find a stealth fighter. Will update soon. Give me a bit of time, alright? Nerd (talk) 15:45, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
@Nerd OK. I think you've sold me on the idea of this page staying. And I am liking this Olympia Snowe lady more and more! Spud (talk) 15:50, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
I like her, too. @Spud, @LeftyGreenMario, @Gospatric @DiamondDisc1, and @DuceMoosolini I made several updates to the page. If you like what you see, please vote to keep the page. Thanks! Nerd (talk) 12:40, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
Have done. Spud (talk) 14:01, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
  • There are probably a billion US politicians that aren't missional. Some days I almost feel this is just "USpoliticiansWiki". —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 07:49, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
@Kazitor Feel free and add people from the Land Down Under. Nerd (talk) 12:49, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
@Nerd That's not the point, the point is that many of these people aren't very relevant. Are you actually interested in the antics of [random Australian politician], are you just saying that to balance the overwhelming amount of US ones? —Kazitor Kazitor sig pic.png 06:44, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
