2010[edit]

December 2010[edit]

  • After a now inexplicable multi-day obsession with Alex Jones, I found RationalWiki as the first result for a Google search for the terms Project Blue Beam. Reading the article for .34 seconds was enough to snap me out of the trance that my first ever exposure to conspiracy theory ramblings put me in. Thanks, yall! Kahman95 (talk) 18:29, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
  • Someone emailed me the address for this site on my Conservapedia account. Wow. N (talk) 19:11, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
  • Spent ages laughing at Conservapedia at school and then found this place. Pegasus (talk) 18 December 2010
  • My AP World History teacher showed my class this website, specifically the Dick Cheney page. Information on the Sith Lord was surprisingly accurate. HungryHypocrite (talk) 20:54, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
  • My friend told me he had just found a website constituting as proof for Einsteins' Theorem of Intellectual Relativity: "The only difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits." He then told me it's web address: www.conservapedia.com; i took one look and was overwhelmed by the stupidity, so i googled "Conservapedia nutjobs," and Rationalwiki was the first link that came up. I've been hooked ever since.--Lairju1 (talk) 18:46, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
  • I too discovered RationalWiki by Googling "Project Blue Beam". Instantly fell in love with this site. - VezzyRattlehead (talk) 14:11, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
  • I googled Peter Hendrickson Bobhurt (talk) 21:15, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
  • I searched "EvolutionWiki"--Bertran (talk) 12:20, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

November 2010[edit]

  • Found RW when linked to the Lunar Bukkake Theory by an atheist/Satanist friend of mine on a Bible page on Facebook. InconspicuousBarrel (talk)
  • I am fairly active on Citizendium and found RW because of discussions there. Pashley (talk) 12:55, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
  • I googled evolution as a result of Nova broadcast on same, believe evolution rational but prefer people who don't.Gsb63 (talk) 00:21, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
  • I came across Conservapedia by chance, and, insanely, decided that I wanted to take polite issue with its characterisation (on anti-feminist grounds) of Gone With the Wind as a conservative film. I created an account, and was blocked almost immediately by TK for no readily apparent reason. "Bye" was all he wrote. Despite this apparently quite common discourtesy, I remained obsessed with the site and its multifarious absurdities (New Conservative Words, the Bible Project, and Aschlafly's "history lectures" are especial favourites) so you will appreciate how delighted I was to discover RationalWiki, though I regret to say that I no longer remember precisely how this came about. The amount of time I have frittered away flitting between the two sites does not bear thinking about. Tylersboy (talk) 11:22, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
  • It was linked to by the front page of FSTDT. I've known about it for about a year but I was too lazy to make an account until now. Satosi (talk) 19:09, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

October 2010[edit]

  • I googled Conservapedia, saw the part about Rationalwiki, and I've been following this site for about a year now. I'm glad I finally decided to sign up! Churro (talk) 09:23, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
  • I found RationalWiki's TV Tropes page and just couldn't resist. Flametail von Karma (talk) 20:46, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

  • To show I am a person of integrity, I will reveal that I have previously registered here under the name "PardreObe". I reregisted as I have noticed that this is nearly (and would be if I had spelled "Padre" correctly) an anagram of "Pedobear" a web character with which I'd rather not be associated. This would explain some odd comments I received when I used that name, including someone calling for me to be banned. It was meant to be a vague reference to the Stars Wars character and I would not have used it if I'd noticed the near-anagram. I hope I will be allowed to use this name and the other username can be deleted. Tx. OldCoppernose (talk) 03:32, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
  • Googled "vaccination hysteria", feels lucky here. What's with the four tildas? 151.56.180.141 (talk) 23:36, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
  • Wanted to see if Thunderf00t had a Wikipedia page! --LOL Foliver LOL
  • Was surfing the topic of currents in the Bosporus and happened on an article about the Flood Myth. I find it heartening to find some light of rationalism in these Dark Ages of information overload. 216.99.218.100 (talk) 17:23, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

June 2010[edit]

  • Well.... I stumbled across Conservapedia, not aware of what it was. I saw a couple (too wildly understate it) errors in the Barack Obama article. I registered, tried to correct the "birth name" on the article, pointing out on the talk page that Soetoro cannot possibly be Obama's birth name, considering that his mother didnt marry Mr. Soetoro until several years after he was born. Lo and behold the honorable TK blocked me for Liberal trolling or some such nonsense. I went to WP to figure out what CP was all about, and found my way here. :D DenaChemistry (talk) 04:12, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
  • The Wikipedia entry on Conservapedia led me here (link About in footnote 63). Since RationalWiki on Wikipedia redirected to RationalWiki's section of the Conservapedia article, I linked the first prose mention of RationalWiki to the Main Page.   — Jeff G. ツ 06:24, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
  • I found this site a month or so ago, whilst laughing at creationists. I know it's not their fault that they were dropped on their heads and kicked around the room at birth, but I can be cruel sometimes. (Young_Earth_Creationism) JonnoHurl Abuse Here 00:59, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

  • I really don't remember. I think someone linked to a logical fallacy article from a site I frequent, like Kotaku or something. I've been unable to leave since then. My wife is getting pissed at me for spending more time editing RW than talking to her. Quaru (talk) 15:32, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
  • Been here for some time actually, stumbled here via fundies say the darndest things and stuck around. I've contributed once or twice but anon and finally decided to register. Oldusgitus (talk) 12:01, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
