Welcome back. Enjoy your break? ТyTalk. 00:38, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I did. I contributed a lot to CP, and am considering getting a cat.--User:Brxbrx/sig 00:40, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
"there are some things you shouldn't do" Like? You make it sound like this place is no longer functional, when the reality is that some people are just too addicted to drama to let trivial matters settle out on their own. ħuman 03:33, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- "things you shouldn't do" would include decratting blue. The wiki would be far more harmonious if users didn't go about doing that. Letting the drama fizzle out on its own may have worked in RW's early days, but now we need to resolve these problems instead of facing them over and over again. As an example (if I'm not mistaken), that particular incident had its precedents. Do we need to go over the same crap each year? Wouldn't it be nice if we could go without? Do I ask so many rhetorical questions because I'm incapable of forming a coherent argument? Was I joking just now? Am I even using the term rhetorical question the right way?--User:Brxbrx/sig 04:01, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I was acquitted by the vote of the mob. You mostly don't know what you are talking about and love the drama if you can insert yourself into it. ħuman 04:56, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Has it not occurred to you that the mob may be wrong? And you were barely acquitted. As for the drama, I create plenty on my own, I've no need to take it from others.--User:Brxbrx/sig 05:53, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- That was the system in place that all participated and agreed upon, and "acquitted" is acquitted, you little fuck. IE, no crime occurred. I was declared Innocent. ħuman 08:33, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

- "Nay; I am uncomfortable with taking power away from the old guard, but then I am a Republican so my priorities aren't running 100% inline with the community as I see it. As for sterner warnings temporary suspension with set boundaries perhaps?"
- "No. The issue is overblown. If people feel the need to punish then remove his rights for a week (this time) but not permanently."
- "This is all so very stupid and pointless. I agree with GK above; if anything, make it temporary."
- "A rebuke is all that is needed, not a time-wasting ultimately pointless vote"
- "I'm not convinced that one incident is reason enough to de-crat. People aren't perfect."
- "Nay, with a qualification: the slight was resolved, but a temporary suspension is in order, say a week or so."
- "Nah. Although I like Human, what he did to Blue was not okay. Abusing his powers like that is wrong. That said, we all do stuff like that. Nobody's perfect. I contribute to Wikipedia, although I have vandalized it before to releive some stress. Just because Human's not a saint doesn't mean he should have his admin priveleges permanently revoked. He is Human after all."
- "Human may have been in the wrong on this one, but this is a fuckin wiki for christ's sake. It's not like there's a shortage of crats to reverse the premotion or demotion or whatever in question. He's a prolific editor with more contributions than anyone else here. Give him a break already and get on with your lives. Jeez."
- "Nay. Had he edit-warred whomever reinstated Blue's rights, I would vote otherwise, but it is something easily reconciled considering the number of 'crats available to reconcile said damage."
- And a goat:
- "Goat. Human is my friend, but he did violate site policy. However, I don't think an unequivocal de-cratting of Human for an indefinite period of time is the way to go on this one. Certainly, there should be some sanction. But is the one that's proposed the right course of action? I think not."
- You were saying? -- Nx / talk 09:15, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I was saying, get over yourself and your crusade against me. Note I was acquitted. Note also, what your butt-buddy Gerwin ignored was that I was the first person to vote "goat" and I never changed it. I was acquitted. Your crusade is ridiculous. Why do you hate me, anyway? ħuman 10:36, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- And why are we discussing this on poor bricks bricks' talk page? ħuman 10:37, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Have to agree there. I hate getting fifteen notification emails. Was "you little fuck" necessary, though?
And Human, you have to admit that your "acquittal" came with more than a few rebukes. Just because the mob chose to forgive doesn't mean yo didn't do anything wrong.--User:Brxbrx/sig 13:20, 8 June 2011 (UTC)- It's the arsehole here. let's get one thing straight - all the vote was in favour of was Human not being decratted. There was no "acquittal" of which he keeps bleating. In fact, most of those who voted against decratting still felt Human deserved some sort of censure - but he chooses to ignore that fact. Sadly, he can't seem to face up to reality, nor the fact that his actions were out of line. He thinks he is bigger than the wiki and its rules. --41.132.53.38 (talk) 13:37, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

A three month block[edit]
...for harmless wandalism is not really what we do here. P-Foster (talk) 19:01, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Someone remind me why Brxbrx is a sysop here. Or here at all. I'm counting several incidents of him being warned for aggressive blocking. When does it stop with this guy? 19:43, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- NR, if you object so strongly to my blocking of a useless vandal, then you are welcome to change the block. I don't see this person coming here for any reason other than causing trouble, and I would have blocked him infinitely but for my laziness I decided not to type out "infinite" under expiry time. This'll make you red: stop being a drama queen.--User:Brxbrx/sig 21:13, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- You've been consistently misusing your sysop rights since you received them. One more inappropriate block and you'll have wasted my time by forcing me to figure out who around here even has authority to address it. Stop being such a little bitch every time someone says something you don't like to you and either go back on vacation or man up. 21:22, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- lol--User:Brxbrx/sig 21:23, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- There's no need to block anything but true spambots, and even them for not long. Blocking anything at all for three months is just stupid. And calling someone else a drama queen when called out on it is just childish. ħuman 03:35, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

I read it. Thanks. Won't do it again. Remember, we have a vandal bin for a reason. P-Foster (talk) 23:23, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

the text of the email, for you nosy nellies[edit]
P-Foster, I take offense to your blocking of me.
What I did was block a clear troll and vandal. His chosen user name was "Bin Me." His only edit consisted of vandalism. It was obvious that he was not interested in being a good faith contributor.
When you blocked me, you did not block a troll or vandal. You blocked someone who has established himself as an honest contributor. Perhaps not a good contributor, but at least a sincere one.
I respect you, P-Foster, but this particular action I find reprehensible. If yo disagreed with my block of "bin me," all you had to do was change the block.
I desysopped myself to make a statement and express my good will, and you blocked me for it. You also took me to the coop. I ask- Was this warranted?
thank you for letting me vent,
Brxbrx

Foucault[edit]
I always see Michel Foucault's face starring at me from your signature. You read any of his work? What do you think of it? (I have read a little bit of his writings, but it would be fair to say I've read more about him than by him.) (((Zack Martin)))™ 21:44, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

"oldfags" ????[edit]
I'm sorry ED isn't there for you anymore, but really, grow up or go away. Nobody cares. P-Foster (talk) 18:03, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- I use the wrong word and all of a sudden I'm no good? Did the point I was trying to make become invalid because of my vocabulary? I am grown up. You, though, are currently behaving like an uppity child trying to be more responsible than everybody. I've said before that I respect you, and I still do, but you need to accept the differences of others. My using "oldfag" is not creating a psychic wound in the Immaterium.--User:Brxbrx/sig 18:09, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- You use a word typical for yourself and confirm your lack of usefulness, actually. And your use of insults for every person who disagrees with you or you disagree with, every single time, betrays a certain lack of general decency. ħuman 03:42, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

Omphalos[edit]
I'm really pleased with the way Omphalos has developed, that just shows how a group of people working together in a wiki can produce something better than any of the group could manage alone. Is there more you can add? Proxima Centauri (talk) 17:13, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

- "ß" (also called "scharfes S") is a complicated letter. It is not used in Switzerland at all and in Germany and Austria it is used after long vowels and diphtongs instead of ss - as using ss would after the long vowel is nulling the composition in the official grammar books of Austria and Germany. We don't really say anything instead of "and shit" - especially nothing vulgar. "und so weiter" (and so on) and "und so" (and so) are used but if the speaker doesn't know how to continue the sentence we use stuff like that and make a circuling gesture with our hands to signal that the sentence or list should continue. It's one of those weird times Germans tend to not finish the sentence (it's why I so often use "..." even in English). The noun "shit" is "Scheiße" (female, for some reason) but is not used that often as it generally gives everybody bad memories of the last time they smelled it - more often is "Kacke" (vulgar, colloquial) or "Kot" (scientific, for public use). The verb "to shit" is "scheißen" but one almost never hears it as it mostly replaced by some colorful euphemism. The adjective/adverb "shit" is "scheiße". Oh and when cursing "Scheiße!" is normal, just like the French "merde!". --uhm, t! 00:51, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

I don't get your joke that you want to put there so badly, with an irrelevant link to "Child abuse." I think that ListenerX was rational to remove the irrelevant and unfunny "joke" of yours, concurring with a BoN (I do find referring to IP editors as BoNs to be moderately funny. When IPv6 replaces IPv4, it will become even more funny.) I'm not a Christian or anything like that, and I have a great sense of humor. I'm not offended or anything. Just tell me, what is your deal? 74.89.192.173 (talk) 04:49, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

- The fact that there could be as many as 32 hex digits (yeah, I know about the abbreviation that elides groups of zeroes with :: somewhere in the address), and the fact that hex digits can also be the letters A-F, I guess. How will Conservapedia ever block the whole planet, except for America, if the planet is using IPv6 ... oh, they'll probably just stick with IPv4, like they stick with everything else that mostly either is, or is becoming obsolete (homophobia, creationism, etc.). 74.89.192.173 (talk) 16:10, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Hate speech isn't cool.[edit]

But it's Ok with Brxbrx that a random stranger shows up to put hate speech describing murder on his userpage, as long as it's confined to his userpage mind you, and it's ok with Brxbrx to block that person and delete the page. Way to say absolutely nothing. So if Brxbrx were in charge we'd have people talking about wanting to murder homosexuals on their userpages and him not particularly giving a shit about it one way or the other, except he'll give a half-assed defense just for good measure. Nope. It gets capitalized when we're talking about a political party, which is a proper noun, but not when were talking about ideologies, which are common nouns. So while Stephen Harper is the leader of the Conservatives (ie. the Conservative Party of Canada), Michelle Bachmann is a conservative politician. - My account on Conservapedia is good faith. My intentions are to improve the site, and I can't do that if Ken blocks me for "being a member of a known vandal site."
- I made the post to highlight ken's behavior. Yes, it did involve me. And yet, I still felt it relevant to the discussion typical of TWIGO:CP. I don't see why outing me was necessary, and it may even violate RationalWiki's rules on posting personal information, seeing as how I am using my real name for my Conservapedia account (It's an account. A legitimate account. Not "weak-assed sockpuppetry").
- If you're a gentleperson, you'll remove and oversight the edit for me. I would be thankful. Or, you can choose to be petty and continue to lord your disdain over me. Then I would risk being banned from Conservapedia, all because some BoN (likely DMorris) felt like poking me.--User:Brxbrx/sig 23:09, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

"P-Foster, I didn't reveal my name some BoN did. Quit being a jackass, will you?" Are you talking about the edit you removed? Because the BoN didn't reveal anything, it merely prodded you about talking up your CP edits on RW. By bringing up the question of real names, YOU did the revealing. Take responsibility for your fuck-ups, man. " But I'm just saying that the BoN was also in the wrong" See what I just wrote -- the BoN teased Brx about calling attention to himself on TWIGO. The correct response to a nonsense accusation to an anonymous call-out is to ignore it or to tell the person to fuck off because they have no idea what they're talking about .
