Either it is manual spam/self-promotion, or the BON has been trying to google references, but the searches came up with really unfortunate results. Which is a bit too much of a coincidence for my taste.

Brettsworld's misunderstanding
I thought this wiki was meant to be funny, that's why you make jokes about every thing on every article right? you guys think you're the new encyclopaedia dramatica? grow some fucking balls, because if you want to be the new E.D that's what you gotta do, post some real fucked up shit, dead babies and cats on fire, go on, try it...go on...I'm not gonna stop you, I have no idea how to add photos on this thing anyway and its pretty clear you're racist, so you're half way there! seriously...you are nothing compared to what E.D was, NOTHING...now please piss off— Unsigned, by: Brettsworld / talk / contribs
- Being funny is not this wiki's chief purpose. (Look at the Rational Wiki article on what is.)
- No, "we" are not the new ED and "we" don't aspire to be. To the contrary - if you bother to dig some discussions about ED from the archives, you'll find that a lot of users here consider it to be crap.--ZooGuard (talk) 13:13, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Scientific evidence for God's non existence
Why have you deleted this page? I think it's logical that, if you have a page who want to show the evidences for god's existence, you must have one who prof that he doesn't exist.— Unsigned, by: 79.168.48.87 / talk / contribs

I've added links to two articles, Burden of proof and Falsifiability both on your talk page and in the deletion note (I apologise for the "Copyright violation" part - it seems that I've inadvertently selected an option from the standard deletion reasons menu). Bloody sirens
It's 2 June, which means that in about 10 minutes, there will be civil defense sirens wailing all over town. The usual procedure for me is to skip a heartbeat, panic, and then remember the date and relax. This time I'm ready, thanks to some over-patriotic neighbors playing the national anthem on their stereo...--ZooGuard (talk) 08:52, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Where is this ZooGuard? Here in Australia, I don't believe we have civil defence sirens... we probably did, say back in WWII... but not during my lifetime (((Zack Martin)))™ 09:06, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Bulgaria. The sirens on 2 June commemorate a certain
prickpoet who managed to get himself killed in a particularly heroic fashion, and the people who have died for the freedom and/or independence of Bulgaria in general. Sirens on any other day would mean either an air raid (unlikely - we haven't had these since WWII, too) or something like a nasty industrial accident that requires mass evacuation.--ZooGuard (talk) 09:24, 2 June 2011 (UTC)- ZooGuard, since you are the first Bulgarian I have ever spoken to, let me ask you two questions I've always wanted to ask a Bulgarian: (1) What do you think of Bulgaria's admission to the EU? Is it good or bad for Bulgaria? What does the average Bulgarian think? (2) What do Bulgarians think of (FYRO)Macedonia? What do Bulgarians think of the whole name controversy? How much difference is there between Bulgaria and Macedonia — I got the impression that Bulgarian and Macedonian languages are pretty similar, maybe really more like different dialects than completely different languages—is that impression correct? (((Zack Martin)))™ 10:37, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, and it's Hristo Botev, right? And I should mention... I was drawn to your talk page by the section heading "bloody sirens". I thought you were speaking of sirens in the ancient Greek sense. How disappointed I was! (((Zack Martin)))™ 10:47, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- That's quite a lot to answer, so I'll do it later. :) And yes, that was about Hristo Botev.--ZooGuard (talk) 16:19, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Ugh.
- the EU: I see it as a generally good event, as the pre- and post- admission requirements forced our politicians to actually do stuff. :) A lot of infrastructure that was neglected post-'89 has been fixed and is being fixed thanks to EU funds. The "free internal movement" thing may fix Bulgaria's long-standing territorial disputes: access to the Bulgarian minorities in Serbia and Macedonia (if/when they are admitted) and a Mediterranean port in Greece (this is already happening). I can't tell you what the average Bulgarian thinks because I'm not a polling agency and I avoid average Bulgarians :), but my impression is that the reaction is generally positive.
- Macedonia: it's "the Republic of Macedonia" or simply "Macedonia" here, the only people who insists on "FYROM" are the Greeks. :) When asked about it, the average Bulgarian will probably answer with a cliché, like "Macedonia is Bulgarian" or "Macedonians admit they are Bulgarian after the tenth shot of rakia" (a lot of the history lessons taught at Bulgarian schools still retain a whiff of nationalistic propaganda - and sometimes more than a whiff, depending on the teacher). I think that they have the right to self-determinate and can call themselves Martians if they want, as long as they don't butcher their (or someone else's) history. Which they do, and the Greeks are not the only one who complain - look at wp:Samuel of Bulgaria for example. To my ears, the modern Macedonian language sounds like a perverted Western Bulgarian dialect under heavy Serbian influence. AFAIK, the literary Macedonian norm has been consciously developed to diverge from Bulgarian as much as possible. Macedonian is still somewhat mutually legible with Bulgarian and when Bulgarians have to speak with Macedonians on official occasions (e.g. when Macedonian politicians are interviewed by the Bulgarian national TV), "we" pointedly don't use an interpreter. :) The official stance is that Bulgaria recognizes the R of Macedonia, but not some of their pretenses. AFAIK, to get a Bulgarian passport, a Macedonian needs mostly to show up at the embassy and fill some paperwork. :) Some people here hope/dream for some kind of "Anschluss", to "make Bulgaria whole again", but I am not among them. At the very least, I wouldn't like to have Kosovo as a neighbor. :)
And all of this reminds me that I need to fix our article on Macedonia.--ZooGuard (talk) 06:00, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
