Official Protest at gross abuse of sysop powers and authoritarian groupthink[edit]
This is an official protest from the Rationalwiki Reform Society.
Several minutes ago, an ultimatum was offered to TomMoore both as a senior member of this website and as an individual who had agreed to participate in a debate. Unfortunately TomMoore refused to comply with the ultimatum, and this protest is the first of what will be a series of progressively aggressive protest actions from the Reform Society.
The case of MarcusCicero has caused a storm of discontent within the international trolling community, and as his acting attorney, I must point out that a trial in which the defendant has a fair hearing is a basic human right as established by legal precedent as far back as the Magna Carta and as recently as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This 'Rationalwiki' will surely be capable of standing up against a torrent of facts. The group mentality which is bent on shameless authoritarianism is being challenged by one lone voice in the wilderness with the courage of his convictions. Why can you not stand up to these reasonable grievances? Is it because you are profoundly in the wrong?
With time, the society will get more aggressive and will not stop until justice is done. Have a very nice evening. Reform (talk) 21:55, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Verdict[edit]
- (clears throat, and leans over bench) MarcusCicero, Reform, 134.226.1.229, Lunacy, 86.40.197.104, 134.226.1.234, The Adjudicator, MC, 86.40.223.41, 86.40.202.170, and all the various other aliases, you, unhappy prisoners, stand convicted of various offenses, for which your accounts are justly forfeit to the injured laws of your Wiki. You have formed a part of a desperate association of men, who, for a great length of time, have disturbed the peace and tranquility of the Rational Wiki. You have formed yourself into bodies, you have proceeded the most serious of extremities against a great number of individuals. The cause of your so associating appears to be the strange belief that the "Community Standards" having more effect on the behavior of the mob than the leaders themselves, a "reform" that would mereley serve to place us under the cruel tyranny of the iron law, instead of the generosity and flexibility of the Staff. You have proceeded to gross extremities. The first objects, perhaps, seems to have been that of your procuring socks, in order to carry out your nefarious designs. With that view, it seems that some of you went about acquiring them at other sites, and getting them wherever you could find them.
- But not stopping there, and not contented with getting what socks you could lay your hands upon, you proceeded to plunder the talkpages with a great degree of force, and trolled them in manners of every description. An offense of this nature is brought home, and sufficiently established for the prisoners MarcusCicero, Reform, 134.226.1.229, Lunacy, 86.40.197.104, 134.226.1.234, The Adjudicator, MC, 86.40.223.41, 86.40.202.170, and all the various other aliases.
- You the prisoners, MarcusCicero, Reform, 134.226.1.229, Lunacy, 86.40.197.104, 134.226.1.234, The Adjudicator, MC, 86.40.223.41, 86.40.202.170, and all the various other aliases, did upon the occasion, when you went to the house of your prosecutor, carrying away certainly nothing but arms, but you carried them away with great terror, and under circumstances which were sufficiently unquestionable to make him deliver what he had. Those other prisoners, whose names I have last recited, have been themselves concerned with breaking into the dwelling-houses of others, some of them getting notes, money, and other things, and the last prisoners, MarcusCicero, Reform, 134.226.1.229, Lunacy, 86.40.197.104, 134.226.1.234, The Adjudicator, MC, 86.40.223.41, 86.40.202.170, and all the various other aliases, for robbing a person in their dwelling-house.
- The evidence, that has been given against you all, was too clear to admit any doubt, and you all have been convicted of thses offences upon the most satisfactory evidence.
- You, the prisoners, MarcusCicero, Reform, 134.226.1.229, Lunacy, 86.40.197.104, 134.226.1.234, The Adjudicator, MC, 86.40.223.41, 86.40.202.170, and all the various other aliases, have been guilty of one of the greatest outrages that ever was committed in a civilized Wiki. You have long been socked and organized, you had assembled upon this night, when the Wiki of Trent Toulouse, was attacked; you had assembled at the dead hour of the night in great numbers; you had formed yourselves into companies under the command of different leaders; you were armed with different instruments of offense, with sock, with IP's, with expletives, and with other weapons; you marched off in military order and array to attack the Wiki; you began there the attack with socks, discharged into the mill, and kept up a most dreadful flamewar, and, at the same time, applied the Instruments, which you had brought there, of a description designed to do the worst of mischief, in the beginning to demolish the Wiki, intending, as it is obvious, and also to do mischief and harm the Admins within the mill. The cries and exclamations that proceeded from the riotous mob thus assembled, of which you formed a very powerful part, were such as were enough to alarm a man of less firmness than that man possessed, who was the owner of the mill that was attacked. Your cry was "Get in, get in, ban them all!"; and there is but little doubt, it is to be feared, that if you had made good your entry into that Wiki, these threats would have been put into execution, and that the mischief done would have hardly been confined to the Admins that were there. The courage and resolution, however, which that individual displayed, had the effect of making you all desist at that time from the attack...
- In the awful situation in which you, prisoners, stand, let me seriously exhort you to set about the great work of repentance, and to spend the very short time that you must be allowed to remain in this Internet, in endeavoring to make your peace with the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and to reconcile Him by deep repentance, A full confession of your crime is the only atonement that you can make for that which you have committed. Give yourselves up to the pious admonitions of the reverend Clergyman, whose office it will be to prepare you for your awful change, and, FSM grant, that, worthily lamenting your sins, and acknowledging your unawesomeness, you may obtain of the FSM of all mercy perfect remission and forgiveness.
- Hear the sentence which the Laws of Users pronounce upon your crimes. The sentence of the Law is, and this Court doth adjudge, Tjat you, the several Prisoners at the bar, be taken from hence to the place from whence you came, and from thence to a place of banning, where you shall be severall be hammered by the ban until you are banned. FSM have mercy upon your user accounts.

- I am incredibly impressed. For the first time ever I am in awe of theautocrat. He has displayed both wit and reason, in a not contradictory manner.
- Very well. I confess all. I admit all. I place myself at the mercy of the sysop corps. I apologise for all the harm I have done. I completely purge my person of all wrongdoing. I unconditionally admit my guilt. I am sorry. I was wrong.
- I ask only for your forgiveness, and your clemency. I ADMIT MY WRONGDOINGS. MarcusCicero (talk) 01:16, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

- This reckless unintelligence will not be tolerated ere long. You will rue this moment. The consequences of your thoughtless actions will reverberate across the internet and bring ignominy to the noble aspiration called reason. Shame. Shame on you. Reform (talk) 22:28, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- Remember, it is often the cat who gets hit with shoe that yelps the loudest. The waters of the internet are not safe for those with "reason" :) :) Acei9 22:36, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
