I thought this
was supposed to be

RationalMedia Foundation (RMF)

This is the official shrine for the mourning of RationalWikians who seem to have moved on from this site. Anybody is welcome to post a tribute here, provided it follows the simple guidelines:

  1. Create a sub-headline for the one to be remembered, and sign underneath it. Kinda like we do with votes.
  2. Only positive tributes are allowed. No using this as a forum to say "Thank Gawd so and so left!" that's what their talkpage is for. This shrine is created in the hopes that Gawd will make them see the light and return.
  3. A special section called "Cryonically Reanimated" will be created and members who left but then returned will be moved there.
  4. Can include users who are have been inactive in a such a way or for such a period of time that, though they didn't announce their leaving, it is apparent they are no longer active here.
  5. No disrupting or disrespecting others' tributes. That's what the talkpage is for.

Failure to follow these guidelines will result in a severe beating from Gooniepunk's goon squad. Severe failure will result in us all comparing you to KenDoll.

Tributes to the cryonically preserved[edit]

  • He went out not long after I came in, but he was one of our Moderators, and the Nag of Four is feeling very empty these days. Mjollnir.svgListenerXTalkerX 05:07, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
  • One of the moderating voices on RW, he is missed for his smartnesses and giant brains. ħumanUser talk:Human 06:03, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
  • I'm sorry to say that I disliked him intensely at first but later found him a fascinating debating opponent. I'm sorry he left.--BobSpring is sprung! 18:24, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

AmesG aka Caius[edit]

  • I miss him, but read his blog everyday, so not so much. - π 02:04, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Offered to debate the Schlaschole, Assdy wanted a deposit. Best of luck with the career in law, bud. ħumanUser talk:Human 04:07, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Auld Nick[edit]

  • Not gone but not around as much as he was (I actually thought he had gone but I see he edited twice this year) He did some really fun stuff on CP way back. 01:51, 10 March 2010 (UTC) SusanG  ContribsTalk

  • I disagreed with her about a lot of things (mostly RW moderation/policy etc.) but Blue was alright. Sorry to see her not around much any more. €₳$£ΘĪÐWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 11:48, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

  • Bohdan (SHahB, etc.) created the Danish Writing Group at CP and gave me a writing plan. He was one of few to be sysops simultaneously on RW and CP. He was a bundle of fun. ħumanUser talk:Human 20:20, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
  • The way I remember it, he was the one to start the 'joke blocks' tradition. Icewedge (talk) 00:50, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
    • Indeed. He "enjoyed" being blocked, long before it was "cool". I think I have a userbox to that effect. ħumanUser talk:Human 02:53, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Intensely irritating.--BobSpring is sprung! 18:26, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

  • I was never even around when this guy was, but he is legend. Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 05:20, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Ah yes - where is he now? Disappeared co-founder of RW1. Almost invisible on RW2 after torturing us with the infamous "clean sheet" directive. Last heard of in Guantanamo I believe.--BobSpring is sprung! 18:36, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
  • The first post I ever read on CP way back in early 2007 when he was still a CP Sysop was his user page that said: "ColinR is DONE with Conservapedia!" LOL. Just had to know the whole story. So I came here. Refugeetalk page 07:38, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Nutty Roux[edit]

The cryonically reanimated[edit]

Tributes to RationalWikians who departed temporarily before miraculously rejoining us are preserved in the archive.

  • Liberal atheist, occasional (read frequent) ranter on Rationalwiki, Twitter, Farcebook and his blog, Psygremlin was an old guarder who loved trance, cricket and insulting neoconservatives. He passed away on 7 May 2022 while doing his DJ set. Now that's going out in style. Avida Dollarsher again 17:10, 11 May 2022 (UTC)

Smerdis of Tlön[edit]

  • One of RW's few non-troll conservatives, Smerdis was a useful voice as soon as we got used to him, was obviously intelligent and did good work on the neoreactionary movement and on linguistics. he passed away in December 2021. Farewell, my fellow language geek. Avida Dollarsher again 10:37, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

  • A wonderful, kind, intelligent person who helped shape early RationalWiki. Much missed.
  • Quote from Tmtoulouse: Jtl was one of the original refugees and helped make RW what it is. He knew his stuff and was part of our first generation tech support team. I often thought him over the years, and I was very sad to hear about (his passing).
  • Quote from Refugee: "Jtl was one of the kindest, smartest, most caring people ever. He will be remembered and loved always."
  • Shit, he died??? How out of the loop was I? ħumanUser talk:Human 08:30, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
