Go raibh maith agat!

Ta fanx for reverting that tiresome BoN's vandalism on my talkpage. --MtDBogan 21:57, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

@Matty the Damned Is that Scots? Oxyaena Harass 22:18, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
Gaeilge (Irish) but I believe it's the same in Scots Gaelic. They are generally considered mutually intelligible. "Scots" is actually a dialect descended from Middle English ("do ye no ken?) and not related to either Irish or Scots Gaelic. --MtDBogan 22:36, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
Well, not closely anyways, both Scots and Gaelic are Indo-European languages. Oxyaena Harass 22:45, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
Indeed. I should've been more precise. English (and by derivation Scots English) are Indo-European from the Germanic group, whereas Irish, Scots Gaelic and Manx are Indo European from the Celtic (Goidelic) group. The other branch in the Celtic group is the Brythonic which encompasses Welsh, Cornish and Breton. --MtDBogan 03:16, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
@Matty the Damned That reminds me, it's unlikely that Gaulish or CeltiberianWikipedia's W.svg were part of either the Goidelic or Brythonic group, it's truly sobering to realize the Celtic languages and peoples we have now are just the mere ghosts of what was once a grand ethnolinguistic group of people, a lot of knowledge has been lost with their passing, and for linguistics it's unlikely we can ever get as close to reconstructing Proto-CelticWikipedia's W.svg as we have Proto-Indo-European simply because so much of the Celtic language base has been lost to history. Welp. Oxyaena Harass 03:25, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I'm aware that much of the ethno-linguistic classification is quite hit and miss, a ham-fisted attempt to make sense of what had avoided being lost in the mists of time. --MtDBogan 03:48, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
It's the best we can do, and hey, for so much being lost you have to give credit to linguists, historians, and archaeologists for reconstructing what we do know, adding to our (admittedly limited) reservoir of knowledge about the Celts. Oxyaena Harass 07:28, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Trying to make new page

I was trying to make a draft "The Progressive Voice", but it won't let me make new pages. Do you know what's going on? Gynocentrism Watch (talk) 00:10, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

@Ambition of Truth It was prevented by an edit filter; 1 & 2. I made changes to filter 58 to deal with the issue so if you try again you will be fine. I can get your page text back from the database if you need it. NekoDysk 12:09, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
I'd appreciate that, as I put a lot there and had to sift through an hour's worth of livestream to post some quotes. Gynocentrism Watch (talk) 13:05, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
No worries, see Draft:The Progressive Voice. NekoDysk 13:13, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
Tried publishing the page, but it still won't let me. Can someone prevent people from making it so I can't create pages? Gynocentrism Watch (talk) 13:28, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
Well I mean to publish the page you need to move the draft to mainspace. NekoDysk 13:32, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

How does "ninja mode" work exactly?

Hi, I have noticed that you recently trusted me with the right of "ninja". I'm curious: How exactly do you do this ninja thing (as in, becoming a bot so that you can quickly change categories or section titles)? Thanks. --Goatspeed. Fossil evidence of my evolutionCircularREmail2.gifasoningSee my latest prototypes 17:28, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

It doesn't do jobs quickly but I think it hides your edits from the recent changes so it doesn't clog up your maintenance work (such as adding categories repeatedly). Bots, however, actually do quick, automatic work, but requires you know some script and programming knowledge. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario!(Mod) 17:32, 6 May 2019 (UTC)

You know I was just being funny, right?

@Public School Girl So was I. Dr. Ox quack specialist 18:55, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

What are we, three?

This is a reference to this. I disclosed my association with Conservapedia both on the AfD and on my user page, ding dong. Also, @Bongolian, who are you proposing that I am doxing? Blocking me for that for no reason while an active AfD at Wikipedia links here stating that I am not banned is libelous you know... I'd sure like to know who I am doxing. (Also, this account is not "ban evasion" as it existed long before this sham of a block, and sockpuppetry in itself is not against RW rules). Conspirate (talk) 03:28, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

I didn't see you reference it on the deletion page. Also Bongolian's shit should go on his talk page, I don't want mine being the scene of a flame war, especially when it means I'll get three thousand notifications, I have OCD. Dr. Ox quack specialist 03:32, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
(EC) What the fuck is this. Please keep your offsite drama offsite. Stop threatening users here or you will find your account severely limited here. Cosmikdebris (talk) 03:34, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
(e/c)I'm sorry, I'm annoyed at Bongolian's shenanigans and the AfD shenanegans, I don't want to take it out too harshly on you. Conspirate (talk) 03:36, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
This isn't the place for offsite drama. Thanks in advance for taking the discussion elsewehere. Cosmikdebris (talk) 03:39, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

It's AWARD time!

For everything you've done here since your triumphant return as El burlador de Sevilla (my university dissertation was on the Don Juan legend), you have been awarded Spud's Star Prize. A delicious Fry's Turkish Delight! If you don't like chocolate, you can (pretend to) give it to someone else. And remember, it's the thought that counts. Spud (talk) 11:36, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Removed some content that obviously belongs in the article Star Wars

Curse you for demoting me. Also, why?! Been on Wikipedia for three years and I'm not even autopatrolled :'(. BlackWhite Speak 20:41, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

Dude, really?

"you should've been aborted" Look, the little shithead annoys me too, but that's a bit far, don't you think? Pizza SLICE.gifDuceMoosoliniYour friendly RW dictator moderator 02:05, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Sorry. Dr. Ox quack specialist 02:13, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

"You should have been aborted."

I know how annoying people like him can be. But please don't say things like that, that's really uncool. RoninMacbeth (talk) 03:42, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

I agree, it's a really nasty personal attack. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario!(Mod) 04:11, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
@LeftyGreenMario@RoninMacbeth Just making sure y'all know that Oxy and I already handled this. Pizza SLICE.gifDuceMoosoliniYour friendly RW dictator moderator 05:38, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw that after I posted this. Sorry if I overdid it. RoninMacbeth (talk) 06:06, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Indef block

I see you indef blocked User:B-loved genius and called them a Nazi for vandalising the Noah Carl article. The RationalWiki:Blocking policy suggests that such actions should only result in a short block. Also, I don't think you can conclude they're a Nazi just because they claim that Noah Carl is not a racist and it's an issue of academic freedom. Technically they're wrong that it's an issue of academic freedom because no-one really gets tenure in the UK any more, and in any case Carl wouldn't have had it. But being wrong doesn't make someone a Nazi. --Greenrd (talk) 17:23, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
