Matthew Frost (alias: Matthew Archer) is a British neo-Nazi, eugenicist, pro-natalist, founder of the white nationalist Aporia Magazine and a key person involved in the Human Diversity Foundation. Frost was exposed by Hope not Hate in an undercover investigation as making racist comments, attending the far-right Guide to Kulchur conference in 2023 and supporting remigrationWikipedia — the repatriation of non-ethnically European immigrants by coercion or financial incentives.[1] Frost supports using the military to deport immigrants and is associated with extremists in the AfD party.[1][2] Frost is the co-founder of a secret neo-Nazi cult named Neo Byzantium.[3]

Background[edit]

Frost was born in the UK. He studied philosophy at the University of Cambridge and was a teacher of religious studies at Kensington Park SchoolWikipedia in 2019.[4] He stopped working as a teacher after only a few years and in February 2021, he set up the podcast Ideas Sleeping Furiously.[5] The podcast interviewed conservatives including Peter Hitchens.[6] In March 2023, the podcast changed its name to Aporia and soon afterwards rebranded as the Aporia Magazine on Substack.[7][8] Frost sold Aporia to Emil Kirkegaard but remained its editor-in-chief until August 2024.[1][9] Aporia is owned by Kirkegaard's Human Diversity Foundation.[1] The HDF is registered as a limited liability company in Wyoming.[10]

Frost currently claims to be writing a book titled Dumbing Down Da Vinci: How We Fail Gifted Children.[9]

Aporia Magazine[edit]

Described as "a young, good-looking, well-spoken Cambridge graduate",[11] Frost has tried to modernise the image of white nationalism similar to Richard Spencer by appearing well-dressed, university educated with an upper-middle-class background. Frost has an elitist-mindset and has stated his target audience with Aporia is billionaires, entrepreneurs and academics opposed to "normies".[1] A strategy Frost has pursued is legitimacy by association[1] by getting figures revered in the alt-right and HBD-sphere to write for Aporia or be interviewed on its podcast; examples include Amy Wax,Wikipedia Charles Murray author of The Bell Curve (whom Frost has described as his "intellectual hero"), Edward Dutton, Razib Khan, Christopher Rufo (senior fellow of the Manhattan Institute), the anthropologist Peter Frost and psychologists Russell T. Warne, Helmuth Nyborg and J. Michael Bailey.[12]

Frost in 2023 realised that Aporia is an echo-chamber with no opposing points of view but as a publication trick he began to publish content in a "debate-style format so that it doesn’t look too one-sided."[1] He unsuccessfully invited a few people with left-leaning politics to write articles but none took up his offer considering the magazine is a cesspool of racism. An invitation was rejected on these grounds by the British geneticist Adam Rutherford who did not want to be associated with Frost.[13] Rutherford has since remarked:

It is now clear to me that this was a wedge attempt at legitimisation. A high-profile credible writer in the field, alongside their lesser-known echo-chamber windbags exposes their ideas to a broader audience, and adds credibility.[14]

Aporia seems to have given up its pretense that it was attracting different viewpoints. In November 2023, its executive editor, Bo Winegard published articles openly supporting "white identity politics"[15] and in May 2024, its podcast allowed Jared Taylor to claim "There is no possibility of blacks and whites living peacefully together."[1] A few months afterwards, Frost published an article saying he was leaving Aporia.[9]Do You Believe That? Despite claiming he had quit, Frost in October 2024 was still the admin of Aporia's Telegram chat.[1] Frost has also stated he will continue to "write the occasional piece and host meet-ups" for Aporia.[9] As of November 2024, Frost continues to be a mutual follower of the official Aporia X account and follows the Aporia podcast host Diana Fleischman. It is clear he retains strong links to Aporia despite misleadingly claiming he was leaving.[9]

Attendance at far-right meetings[edit]

Frost attended the neo-Nazi Guide to Kulchur conference in Tallin, Estonia in May 2023.[1] Other attendees were Emil Kirkegaard, Edward Dutton, and Helmuth Nyborg who appeared in a photo together (possibly taken by Frost). Among speakers at the event were Holocaust denier Mark Weber who is affiliated with the Institute for Historical Review, white nationalist Frodi Midjord and Jared Taylor.[16]

Views and ideology[edit]

Remigration[edit]

See the main article on this topic: Ethnic cleansing

Frost supports repatriating non-White immigrants in European countries to their non-European countries of origin and favours "remigration" for even second and third-generation descendants of immigrants. Hope not Hate exposed him in private (by covert recordings) as holding these hardcore white nationalist beliefs and associating with Erik Ahrens who is active in the AfD:

In further conversations, he [Matthew Frost] described his excitement about a policy of so-called “remigration” — mass-deportations of European citizens of foreign descent to their country of origin, an extreme but increasingly popular far-right idea. “Imagine that this happened in the next 10, 15 years, what that would do for the West, for Europe,” Frost said. He told his colleague Erik Ahrens, who is active in the AfD, a party in which this policy is under consideration: “It’s your fucking duty to do this.”[1]

In another secret recording, Frost was heard saying he favours repatriation by paying immigrants to leave Germany and using battleships to carry out deportations:

“Imagine: a new German state,” he [Matthew Frost] said. “Imagine if they got this through. It wouldn’t be nice. It’s like you’re a bouncer in a nightclub. It’s your job. You didn’t invite these people in. You’ve just got to pay people to go home, whatever. Take two battleships to the coast of Morocco, and say you’re going to do this. We’re smarter than you, we’re bigger than you, you’re going to do this.”[2]

Racism and eugenics[edit]

A racist tweet by Matthew Frost.[17]

Frost has described Palestinians as having on average an IQ "close to the borderline of mental disability." He further said: “They can’t be reasoned with, you can’t educate them.”[1] According to Hope not Hate Frost has "adopted a strategy perfected by the scientific racism movement. It hid its racist ideas under layers of statistics and jargon to give the semblance of academic rigour — but were in fact misinterpretations, misrepresentations, and manipulations of science."[1]

His X account under his alias Matthew Archer contains racist and offensive tweets. Frost openly espouses ethnic nationalist views[18][19][20] and has written:

So a Chinese person who has just acquired a Spanish passport is suddenly Spanish? That’s all there is to being Spanish?

I doubt you seriously think that. If you do, it explains a lot about the demographic problem.[21]

Frost is an outspoken eugenicist and is close friends with Jonathan Anomaly the founder of the biotech-eugenics company PolygenX. In April 2024, Frost organised an Aporia "London Meet-Up" with Anomaly.[22] Frost interviewed white supremacist and eugenicist Richard Lynn and made a post sympathising with his views.[23]

Pro-natalism[edit]

Frost supports pro-natalism and increasing "native fertility" in European countries.[24][25] He took credit for promoting an Aporia article titled “The West’s Fertility Crisis” to the Conservative MP Neil O’Brien.[1]

Spiteful mutant hypothesis[edit]

In February 2024, Frost co-authored an article on Aporia supporting the pseudoscientific spiteful mutant hypothesis, arguing:

It thus seems possible that a non-trivial part of the rise of leftism since 1960 is due to mutational pressure – that is, the accumulation of harmful mutations in the gene pool.[26]

Neo Byzantium[edit]

As part of Hope not Hate's investigation into Frost, he was exposed as having co-founded a neo-Nazi cult named Neo Byzantium influenced as a business model by the misogynist Andrew Tate:

Among the most concerning of Human Diversity Foundation’s (HDF) projects is a private club. Called Neo Byzantium, a reference to the besieged outpost of western civilisation, it is a secret group designed to operate as a money-making members organisation that exploits the isolation of lonely young men. It is led by Erik Ahrens and Matthew Frost, who have taken inspiration from Andrew Tate, the misogynist influencer, and the Church of Scientology.

In preparing to launch Neo Byzantium, Ahrens and Frost studied the marketing techniques of Andrew Tate, whose “Hustlers University” programme has attracted more than 100,000 young men who pay a £40 monthly fee to access an online community, offering discounts and benefits to those who enlist friends. “He is not our main source of inspiration but it is a working business model,” Ahrens explained. He has also studied cult-management techniques developed by the Church of Scientology, which encourages members to “disconnect” from their families.[3]

Neo Byzantium was modelled on the Waffen-SS and wants to train its secret members in armed and unarmed combat.[1]

Politics[edit]

Frost endorsed Donald Trump in the 2024 US presidential election and has made a tweet supportive of Trump's election win:

Only the birth of a child could beat this.

Total victory.

A new American century.[27]

He is a supporter of the extremist wing of the Alternative for Germany party and supports the AfD adopting remigrationWikipedia policies.[1]

Undercover: Exposing the Far Right[edit]

Hope not Hate's undercover investigation into Frost, Aporia and the Human Diversity Foundation was broadcast on Channel 4 on 21 October 2024.[28] The investigation exposed the manipulative tactics of Frost's neo-Nazi cult to prey on lonely vulnerable teenagers and to radicalise them.[3] It was revealed that Frost is a highly deceptive individual who in private holds extreme right beliefs such as "remigration" of immigrants but in public presents himself as holding more moderate views. This tactic is commonly used by the far-right such as Martin Sellner's Generation Identity and Nick Griffin's British National Party.
