A nice break from bigotry[edit]
Hey, Human, I found a good site: Religious Tolerance.
Not sharing for any real reason, though I find the site refreshing after reading Conservapedia, and even sometimes after RationalWiki. -- Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:59, 28 January 2008 (EST)
- Hehe, cool, thanks. Yeah, CP gots their militant YECiots, and we gots our share of militant atheists... Personally I like a one hour show that's on Air America Sat from 10-11 and Sundays from 7-8 EST, State of Belief with the Rev. Dr. C. Welton Gaddy. He's hilarious, and obviously religious but very ecumenical. human 18:46, 28 January 2008 (EST)

I am amazed at what this site has become. Quality vandalism doesn't last ten seconds before a hotheaded admin reverts it, then issues a block. Its almost like they think somebody actually cares. Locke 22:38, 2 February 2008 (EST)
(You're blocked, so I can answer)Are you calling Bohdan's vandalism quality? Because most of it is repeating the same joke about x being a sockpuppet of y. Your rhyming doppelganger could use a helping hand[edit]
Eh, Human, I have a slight problem with the layout on my userpage. On a widescreen moniter, my userpage has the exact look I'm going for. On a standard moniter, my it looks like it was randomly thrown together. Can you come up with a solution that appears more or less the same in each ratio? I'm trying to maximize the blinding obscenity of the page, so I'm trying a solid wall of epileptic sparklies above and below the flashing message. Cheers and fruitcake, eewnamuħ 17:28, 4 February 2008 (EST)
- I'll take a look and seee what I can come up with... images don't like to play well together though. First thought - put them all in a table, which will force the width of the display. human 20:34, 4 February 2008 (EST)
- It looks like you are shooting for a "box" of that image surrounding the blinking text to me? I would say, use a table, make it three images wide, text a wee bit smaller and in the center cell. I'll whip it up for you, feel free to revert. human 20:40, 4 February 2008 (EST)
I've, er, expanded upon your original idea. However, I can't get the flashing text in the middle to center (I'm trying to double its font size to fill up all four boxes). There's also this gap in the arrangement that I can't figure out how to fill. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. -- eewnamuħ 03:13, 5 February 2008 (EST)
- I fixed it up for you. Two rows of six cells afore and below, the row with the text has a double wide and double tall cell for the text, and the fourth row only hhas four cells since two are taken up by the big cell in row three. human 13:19, 5 February 2008 (EST)
sysop[edit]
Hey Junior, make me a sysop. You've made every single moron on this wiki one (including the "sensitive man" user) so make me one now. I want to, you know, help revert vandalism and the such. - Human, Locke is definitely Oscar. Or haven't you noticed that Locke rarely appears unless Oscar is somehow involved? A comparison between Oscar's interactions and Locke's editing patterns is all it takes to confirm this. Examples: Locke's first edit off his own talkpage is to ask Godless Liberal about a picture that only Bohdan cares about or remembers; Locke's second edit off his own talkpage is to back up Bohdan in supporting TK; Locke responds to AmesG's post on Bohdan's talk page in barely a minute; Locke addresses himself in the third person and admits "this is Bohdan"; Locke spends another post spent arguing with those who banned TK (note that Bohdan is the only user here with both the motive (one of the few to vouch for TK) and the character to make a sockpuppet to bolster his arguments; Locke spends an assload of of time doing nothing but reverting others' edits to Oscar's userpage; and Locke responds, but not Oscar, after I lock Oscar's userpage and talkpage. Even their style of wandalism is identical. One must conclude that Oscar is the person behind Locke. -- Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 22:01, 5 February 2008 (EST)

Nevertheless, all this is based on pure speculation. But it is certainly revealing of you, and this site you are trying to destroy. Locke 22:22, 5 February 2008 (EST)
- You are at least as ignorant as Oscar. Allow me to elucidate: one of the defining traits of fascism is the glorification of violence and war, as well as rapid anti-intellectualism. I don't see any of that happening here. Secondly, "secret dossier" implies, well, secret. All users' contributions here are a matter of public record. It is not a "carefully documented dossier" because I didn't compile it until I wrote the post. And compiling evidence is also standard procedure when making any sort of hypothesis—it's called "research", Locke. You should try it some time. Citing specific, observable examples in order to back up my argument is also the ethical thing to do, otherwise it would be a baseless accusation (and the examples are provided specifically in order to demonstrate that it is not baseless).

1. A psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason.
2. Extreme, irrational distrust of others. (American Heritage Dictionary) - I entertain no delusions that you are "persecuting" me. And what, exactly, makes my hypothesis extreme or irrational? New Holydaze template I made[edit]
I just finished making a possible replacement for the current Template:Holydaze. The version I made would replace the moving <noinclude> tags with a more user-friendly template parameter. You can see what I mean at User:assume a=a/holydaze, where I've created the page that would replace Template:Holydaze, along with its documentation. It uses a template subpage, Template:Holydaze/inner, which I already put in place.
The advantage of my version of the template is that it uses a template parameter. The parameter is clearly marked at the top of the template page, allowing it to be switched more easily. Also, direct use of Template:Holydaze/inner on pages other than recentchanges would allow use of different holidays on different pages, something that currently requires cut & paste of the code for that holiday and is not automatically updated if that holiday's message changes.
Another thing I wrote into the template was documentation and messages that encourage people to fill in messages for holidays with no message at the moment. Other than this slight change, it uses the exact same messages as the current version.
Do you think this would be a good replacement for Template:Holydaze? I'd like to get some input on this before making a sudden, undiscussed change to such a widely visible page. assume 12:45, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- Yah, don't change it quite yet. Let me look over what you did, certainly making use easier makes sense. But, you know, I think we might be able to make it automatic with a date parser function (kind of, if month=2 and if day=14 then [valentine's day]). Like how template:nextPrim works? Just a thought. Now let me go look more closely at your new version. human 14:53, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- It's not butting in at all, the more heads we have thinking of ways to make it easy the better! human 18:41, 10 February 2008 (EST)
Ha! me too - automating that is! using something like #ifexpr (startdate <= (now) and finishdate >= (now))| ... etc easy in C but ... SusanMiouw 21:14, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- I knew it wouldn't be long before you would turn up to help us build our new toy! It would be awesome to have it all on one page, with obvious and easy to edit "banners" and dates. because, of course, some holydaze are moveable feasts... human 21:23, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- How about conditionals that result in "includeonly" tags based on the dates in the table? Or, the dates are on lines just above and below the banner, and are actually generated by the conditional code? (making copying, using them, etc. easier) human 21:48, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- Could do it with a seperate page for each holyda - that's how wp do their featured front page article (not as good as ours?). Page name includes date & template call varies with current date. A bit unweildy! SusanMiouw 22:34, 10 February 2008 (EST)
- Yah... I hate "cascading templates" if not necessary. Makes for very opaque functions. Let's make this work out of one page/template, with perhaps external support functions. human 23:16, 10 February 2008 (EST)

- Hmmm... can't seem to get <noinclude> etc. to work with the conditionals... Sterilexx 12:45, 13 February 2008 (EST)
Yeah, Sterile, that's what I meant. Although, most of the "greetings" should only run on the day itself (or days, for things like kwaanza). What do people think of using something like Sterile's thing as the main template, but putting the greetings themselves either in one long template or each in their own subtemplate?
So a line from the template would look like this:
{{ #ifexpr: {{ #time: z }} > 304 and {{ #time:z }} < 310 |{{/guyfawkes}}|
Or this:
{{ #ifexpr: {{ #time: z }} > 304 and {{ #time:z }} < 310 |{{/banners#Guy Fawkes Day}}|
That way, at the subpage where the templates are, they will be "visible" while editing/previewing?
Oh, and Sterile, instead of a whole series of nested conditionals, can they be standalone? As in:
...if (date=feb14) then (valentine) if (date=jul14) then (bastille)...
It just makes it easier to edit/adapt, I think. Or do they have to be if/then/else? Just a few random thoughts. human 14:50, 13 February 2008 (EST)
- I'll have to look into some more. One easier to modify back version (like you suggested...) led to some awkward spacing. Gotta run. Sterilexx 18:12, 13 February 2008 (EST)

No funky spaces are coming over, I "noincluded" all the CR's. The template itself still looks funny, of course. human 19:27, 13 February 2008 (EST)

Human@CP[edit]
So, were you human at CP there above me in Scientific Revolutions? PoorEd 14:04, 15 February 2008 (EST)
- Yes, that was me. That was why I didn't switch to my "real name" on RW, since everyone already knew me as human. It would have been too confusing. You should check out my work on the building trades and classical music sometime ;) human 14:16, 15 February 2008 (EST)
- We were there at the same time. Cool. My favorite contributions were adding mercy and forgiveness as characterisics of Christianity (that's right, surprise, they only had sin and punishment), a few juicy quotes that are still on Coulter's page, Rush Limbaugh's oxycontin addiction (still there) and adding a reason for dropping the atomic bomb on Harry Truman's page that RobS didn't know about and got him running about shouting "Disinformation!" until I added a citation from the Friends' web site. Anyway, nice to run into you again. PoorEd 14:30, 15 February 2008 (EST)

- NitramNos. My demise is recorded on my user page here I committed suicide by RobS when I got tired of the whole charade. I chose my present username on a whim and because I always was amused by EdPoor's username. Oh, and no, I didn't become involved in RW until recently. - Ah, I remember you. Nice to meet you again :) "Suicide by RobS", ROFL. Yah, RW 1.0 was like a bunch of people who work together and hate their jobs meeting at a bar after work blowing off steam. RW 2.1's big job now is learning to accomodate as well as possible newer editors who don't align with the groupthink that CP created among the "original" and early editors. - Just defaming. No, really: back in those times, many came to CP having read about it in blogs etc. But if CP only were an Andy + his cohort project, it would have been forgotten soon - as it would now, if there were no RW. What made it flourish (?) and attracted new editors, me included, was the unique combination of crazy editors in good faith, more or less subtle vandals, and "liberals" genuinely wanting to improve the site (many editors falling in both the last two categories). I don't know where to go with this one so I'll give it to you as you seem to be an authority on issues. On the CP page for Senator Carl Levin, it says that he supports the rights of MINERS to get out of state abortions. Can this idiocy be shown somewhere on this site?
http://www.conservapedia.com/Carl_Levin#Social_Issues, "Social Issues" section. — Unsigned, by: Ekulwyo / talk / contribs
- Perhaps. Often things like this just get discussed in Conservapedia talk:What is going on at CP?. I'll go check it out though. Also, please remember to sign your talk page comments with four tildes, like this: ~~~~. That will put a link to your user page and a time/date stamp after your comment. Thanks! human 16:56, 23 February 2008 (EST)
- Wow, rampant illiteracy if nothing else! How many errors are there in:
- "Levin supports that expansion of embryonic stem cell research and voted no on a mandatory patently notification for miners who wish to get a out of state abortion. A liberal abortion rights group, NARAL, gave him a 100% rating, proving his stance pro-abortion stance. Liven also opposes the federal marriage amendment"? human 16:58, 23 February 2008 (EST)
