UNZ Review[edit]

Anatoly Karlin Archive

He's published over a thousand blog posts on UNZ Review. Lots more of his crazy views can be added to article. SkepticDave (talk) 03:31, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the hagiography, there's a convenient summary of my work here if you need further ideas. Here's one suggestion: A few months ago I wrote what is possibly the most comprehensive exposition of IQ research in Russian for the website Sputnik and Pogrom. The Marxist blogger Louis Proyect quotably describes me as "too nationalistic for Putin" ("wrote for “Sputnik & Pogrom”, an ultra-nationalist website that was even too much for Putin based on the evidence of it being shut down on July 6th [actually it was blocked, not shut down]. In 2015 the website called for “crushing Ukraine” and establishing a “Russian ethnic state.”") --Akarlin (talk) 11:52, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
According to your bio, you've lived most your life as an immigrant in UK, and you also lived in the US, but returned to Russia in 2016. Yet according to your UNZ Review posts, you're anti-immigration/want very tight immigration controls... Hypocrite much? Like Richard Spencer, are you pro-immigration/freedom of movement for "white people" across European countries/national borders, just not "non-whites"? This would mean you're not even an ultra/ethnic nationalist, but an Americanized pan-European ("white") nationalist kook like Spencer, who supports the EU and is anti-Brexit. I found it amusing reading your blog post about London, that you complain about the city having "too much vibrant diversity"- when as an immigrant for many years -you were a part of this (you're not ethnically/native English). Brexit was a response to the fact most English (and to a lesser extent Welsh) are fed up with high-levels of EU immigration, especially from eastern-European countries. So how exactly does your "Russian ethnic state" claptrap make sense, when you lived most your life as an immigrant in foreign lands?SkepticDave (talk) 16:22, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
Sure, I went to the UK when I was six - hardly my own choice at that age, at a time when Russia was getting raped by slavishly pro-Western neoliberal scumbags - went to school there, to university in the US, then went back to Russia once financially independent. So I am actually nothing but consistent. That said, if there absolutely has to be substantial immigration, it would make sense to have it come from predominantly high-IQ, non-Islamic countries (that is, Europeans and East Asians). --Akarlin (talk) 20:52, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
If you look at immigration surveys: people who are anti-immigration (strong border controls & large reductions in numbers of immigrants), do so primarily because of two reasons: overcrowding (especially countries with high-population densities) and fear of economic competition, i.e. immigrants taking jobs. These are legitimate concerns, mainly the first. What is not, is 'race and IQ' nonsense - confined to the alt-right/"HBD" lunatic-fringe of politics. Virtually no-one opposes immigration because of IQ/race and this is why the alt-right you're so fond of, has no political power or representation: its an internet movement for Nazi keyboard warriors that are laughed at by 99.99% of the ordinary public. There are no alt-right political parties, and never will be. And if you, or Spencer, stood in an election, putting out a leaflet with your race and IQ nonsense, you wouldn't get 5 votes. While there has been a rise in 'populist' parties by country across Europe that want a sharp decrease in immigration levels, none of these promote the idiotic "HBD" thing. Their failure though to take power is because they focus too much on Islam or culture; Le Pen lost the 2017 presidential election because her anti-immigration rhetoric was still xenophobic and anti-Islam. I'm puzzled that you have a degree in politics, and yet are for something so ridiculous; you apparently have no idea about electioneering or electoral strategy. SkepticDave (talk) 01:02, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
My degree is in Political Economy, not Politics, to be strict. I am not interested in electioneering. I am primarily interested in understanding how the world works, and sharing my ideas with people. If that leads to more realistic and ultimately humane policies, that's great. --Akarlin (talk) 10:39, 5 February 2018 (UTC)

Response[edit]

Here: RationalWiki Hagiography. --Akarlin (talk) 21:08, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

I've applied most of the proposed changes I could, but the part about being Mecha Hitler sounds far too tongue-in-cheek so I left it out. For voting for the Jews despite having views on the contrary, keep in mind the friend argument. БaбyЛuigiOнФire🚓(T|C) 21:56, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
He isn't voting for a Jew, but Vladimir ZhirinovskyWikipedia who has partial Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, but doesn't practice Judaism and has made anti-Semitic statements. Zhirinovsky is most infamous for telling his aides to rape a pregnant journalist. Mind-boggling why anyone would vote for him, but he's expected to come second in the presidential election 2018, hoovering up protest votes by those fed up with Putin.SkepticDave (talk) 23:45, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Karlin's Response[edit]

tl;dr, Anatoly complained, read his rebuttal here.

Probable self-editing by Anatoly Karlin[edit]

I removed content that was inserted by User:Provegan, as it seems likely to be an act of self-editing by Anatoly Karlin. It seems like he made up the account "ProVegan" to add a quote to the article that he is particularly proud of. An indication of this is the fact that the quote was written only 48 hours before the edits to this article. There's no evidence the quote is interesting or illuminating. Removing a few sentences[edit]

I want to move a few sentences: https://rationalwiki.org/w/index.php?title=Anatoly_Karlin&diff=2119581&oldid=2112973. I don't think any of the sentence removals should be too controversial. I don't know what the editing guidelines are on RationalWiki (I edit on Wikipedia). Ethanbas (talk) 00:38, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Generally speaking, the rules for editing are rather loose here when compared to wikipedia. I posted a welcome message on your talk page just now; it has a lot of good links that should help you get acquainted to RationalWiki. Regards, Cosmikdebris (talk) 00:50, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
In this specific case, @Ethanbas, your revision was fairly large and included the removal of two references and two links to other pages, for reasons I am not sure of; and this might be seen as partially whitewashing a controversial figure on a page that has been frequently vandalized and subject to edit warring over the last months. CogitoNotStirred (via telepathy) (talk) 01:03, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
I can explain each removal. 1. In the lede, "He is a blogger for The Unz Review where he promotes eugenics and human-biodiversity pseudoscience to far-right nationalists and skinheads in Russia", "and skinheads in Russia" should be removed, because I don't really see how his English writings on Unz are targeted towards skinheads in Russia (few people in Russia can read English, much less know of the Unz website). 2. He did study at UC Berkeley (given his UC Berkeley websites such as https://cal.berkeley.edu/akarlin), and almost certainly political economy as stated on that website (an official UC Berkeley website) and others, so "claims to" have studied should be removed. 3. From what I can tell, Karlin does not have a "fixation" with penis sizes; I am not sure I could find more than one reference by Anatoly where he talks about penis sizes, so using the term "fixation" and devoting almost a full paragraph about his "fixation" with penis sizes isn't good and should be trimmed to a very brief mention or no mention at all. 4. "In the same post, Karlin bizarrely writes: "arguing on the basis of statistics that apartheid wasn’t all that bad for Black South Africans probably isn’t racism."" I have a personal preference to remove this part, but I guess it could be kept if others wanted it to be. 5. The see also section contains irrelevant entries in my opinion so I would remove it entirely. Ethanbas (talk) 14:07, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
Many thanks. I think you've justified all but point 4 at least to my satisfaction, but would argue against deleting point 4 because it provides more context into how Karlin promotes racialism outside Russia and historically,as well as tying into the human biodiversity section which comes below. If anyone else has thoughts (maybe @EK?) it would be great to hear them. We tend to assume people mean well in the first instance, it is more that this page was recently sabotaged a few times, so I was being a fair bit more cautious than usual.
Also, unlike Wikipedia, at RW we tend to use snarky humour and jokes, so the penis references, while perhaps not extremely relevant, are not as out of place as they would be at Wikipedia. CogitoNotStirred (via telepathy) (talk) 14:34, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
@CogitoNotStirred Ethanbas isn't editing in good faith: it's obvious Karlin told them to come here and make these changes since he was banned. The main changes Ethanbas made were the same whitewashing as Karlin; Ethanbas is also mostly a SPA (single purpose account) and has made very few edits on other articles. DrMackal (talk) 16:23, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
I don't even know how to respond to "it's obvious Karlin told them to come here and make these changes since he was banned. The main changes Ethanbas made were the same whitewashing as Karlin". This reminds me of the worst parts of Wikipedia editing I experienced, in basically my first 48 hours on RationalWiki. Ethanbas (talk) 17:16, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Penis sizes[edit]

Karlin is a proponent of the "big black dick" hoax. He claims black africans have big penis sizes, when in reality science studies have disproven this claim and Karlin relies on the pseudoscientific studies of Richard Lynn. Since he has an fantasy of big black dicks, I think "fixation" is an accurate description.DrMackal (talk) 16:34, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Actual studies on race and penis-size have shown: "there is no convincing scientific background to support the ascription of bigger penile dimensions to people of the black race". See "Oversized Penile Length In The Black People; Myth Or Reality". (2007). JC, Orakwe., GU, Ebuh. Tropical Journal of Medical Research. 11(1): 16-18. for example in a study 115 Nigerian males, the average stretched penis length is 5.26 inches long, near identical to the worldwide average. See Orakwe, J. C; Ogbuagu, B. O; Ebuh, G. U (2006). "Can physique and gluteal size predict penile length in adult Nigerian men?". West African Journal of Medicine. 25(3): 223–5.

The source Karlin relies on for his fantasy of big black dicks is totally dubious. For a debunking:

Lynn's claims about differences in penis length between races build on earlier claims by Rushton and Bogaert (1987). The Rushton and Boagert paper is striking for its use of non-scholarly sources (Weizmann, Wiener, Wiesenthal, & Ziegler, 1991). These include a book of semi-pornographic "tall tales" by an anonymous nineteenth century French surgeon that makes wildly inconsistent claims about genital sizes in people of different races. Lynn also refers to this book without mentioning any problems with this as a source of information. Another odd data source cited by Rushton and Bogaert is an article authored by a certain "P. Nobile" published in Forum: International Journal of Human Relations. This publication is better known to the public as "The Penthouse Forum", a popular men's magazine. The data sources that Lynn uses in his recent paper are hardly much better. One of them is a book by Donald Templer (another self-professed race realist) called Is Size Important? Templer is not a urologist but a psychologist so why he would claim to be an authority on this subject is unclear. Lynn's other source is the world penis size website. These are both self-published sources that have not been independently verified. A blogger named Ethnic Muse has carefully examined this site's references and found that a number of articles listed on the site either do not exist under the name given or do not discuss penis size at all. There are also numerous discrepancies between the values provided by the website and the actual values given by the references. Therefore, the information on this website cannot be trusted and no conclusions should be drawn from it.

Thanks. Though we like to start from the position of good faith, it's quite possible that this is a proxy edit as you say, and the penis-size business does tie into the whole human biodiversity bit, as well as overlapping with other alt-right figures like Milo Yiannopoulos. We are probably therefore best to leave the edits reverted for now. CogitoNotStirred (via telepathy) (talk) 16:49, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
LOL Ethanbas (talk) 17:14, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
Given how you earlier wrote "I think you've justified all but point 4 at least to my satisfaction", I am going to implement this edit now (with the exception of 4). I think you'd understand why I'm not a "proxy edit" if you took a look at my Wikipedia page, lol (seriously man...). Ethanbas (talk) 14:47, 4 October 2019 (UTC)

Kirkegaard v Smith[edit]

I thought it was relevant to mention on his page given the fact he was mentioned a dozen times in the preliminary judgment https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/QB/2019/3393.html

I also found Karlin spreading lies about the outcome of the lawsuit recently on reddit and other social media.109.123.74.78 (talk) 22:57, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Wtf is this?[edit]

https://twitter.com/akarlin88/status/471615476481536000 "you are talking about a 14 yrs old child you freaking weirdo" 109.123.74.78 (talk) 23:07, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

Found Karlin still whining about his article[edit]

https://twitter.com/akarlin88/status/1365465418568265731

For example, I believe mainstream science on the B/W gap in IQ, and in FBI stats on race & crime. But I don't recall calling any ethnicity cockroaches in a blog post or video. Yet I'm the one with a fat RatWiki profile while Western lib journos suppress the Navalny kompromat.

Looks like Karlin has a poor memory; here (in 2019) he described black people as "violence ridden underclasses" and openly admitting to being a racist:

I am quite happy that few blacks associate with Russia, considering the type of violence-ridden underclasses they tend to create in countries that open their doors to them. Not to mention the extreme chutzpah and aggressive sense of racial grievance they tend to act out towards their host countries. So yes, I'm racist and very happy with that. If /r/europe SJWs or Islamists such as yourself have a problem with that, oh well. Don't care, really.

In 2020 he also called a black Twitter user he debated on race and IQ - a "spearchucker" and the n-word:

https://twitter.com/okechukwu_01/status/1240850603636555776

Anyone know why all of a sudden Karlin is trying to deny his recent racist past?2A0B:F4C2:1:0:0:0:0:1 (talk) 17:57, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Likely has to do with Karlin recently entering academia - Institute of Psychology of Russian Academy of Sciences. He's known to get into a hissy-fit if you quote his white nationalism and racism posts, support for Richard Spencer etc since this sort of stuff is damaging to how he's trying now to present himself as an 'IQ researcher' and scientist. Bizarrely he has recently said he never supported an ethno-state - yet this is contradicted by tweets he made, so he's a proven liar. 139.59.170.127 (talk) 21:45, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
Btw someone may want to add this source to the article:

https://thefakenewsresource.wordpress.com/2020/05/28/a-collection-of-inaccurate-disgusting-and-controversial-perspectives-largely-excluded-from-the-mainstream-media-and-rightly-so-the-unz-review-reviewed/

Anatoly Karlin– (a self-described journalist and IQ researcher, he studied political economy at UC-Berkeley and has only one peer-reviewed published article (in the Siberian Psychology Journal)[44], he is a frequent poster to the Unz Review. In his writings, he has claimed that the human carrying capacity is 100 billion[45], while most other peer-reviewed and pro-science sources cite the human carrying capacity as being between 8 – 10 billion[46][47], with Australian Academy of Science finding only two out of 65 peer-reviewed papers coming to a similar conclusion as Karlin.[48] He also has repeatedly tried linked race and IQ together[49], relying on such controversial and academically questionable material like Richard Lynn’s research on the subject and The Bell Curve, falling for common assumptions about race and IQ.[50] Karlin also has a Reddit account and, not uncommon for many Redditors, has voiced his own view on race, writing, “I am quite happy that few Blacks associate with Russia, considering the type of violence-ridden underclasses they tend to create in countries that open their doors to them…So yes, I am a racist and very happy with that,”.[51] He also has tried to link homosexuality and pedophilia.[52] So, all around, someone who should not be given a platform, yet has been due to the Review)

Another recent source on Karlin[edit]

https://forbetterscience.com/2020/12/29/mdpi-and-racism/

If you think that racist collection in Psych was a one-off: no. Reader alerted me to the following paper, published in January 2020, which declared Sakha or as Russian call them, Yakuts (an indiginous ethnic group in the Siberian north) to be intellectually inferior to ethnic Russians:

Vladimir Shibaev, Andrei Grigoriev, Ekaterina Valueva and Anatoly Karlin Differential Item Functioning on Raven’s SPM+ Amongst Two Convenience Samples of Yakuts and Russians , Psych(2020) doi: 10.3390/psych2010005

The lead author Anatoly Karlin is a Russian racist or possibly even Neo-Nazi with an affiliation of the Institute of Psychology of Russian Academy of Sciences. RationalWiki describes him as “a Russian white nationalist and global-warming denialist crank who espouses a bizarre form of anti-environmentalism called “Tropical Hyperborea”, which is “a white ethno-state and he will only grant entrance to “whites from the high-IQ European & Anglosphere countries” who are willing to “culturally Russify“.

Karlin also openly admits “yes, I’m racist and very happy with that“. His Twitter handle is @akarlin88, where he once declared to find 14 year old girls “hot”. Karin was born in 1988, but also 88 is the standard code in racist circles for “Heil Hitler”.

Karlin has a history of defaming innocent people as pedophiles online yet tweets he finds 14 year old children sexually attractive. Projection?139.59.170.127 (talk) 21:58, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

More sources[edit]

You can also dig up some academic sources that categorise Karlin as alt-right and white supremacist-

Was also briefly mentioned in a 2019 anti-fascist publication by Hope not Hate:

Updated photo[edit]

He seems to have changed his appearance lately; seems like there should be an updated photo of him. Do you know with whom can I submit it to the page? — Unsigned, by: KennanAtlantis / talk / contribs

You have to be autopatrolled to upload a photo. Your account looks a bit suspicious though - Mikemikev who has socked on this same talk page on numerous accounts has used 'Atlantis' in his usernames before. Mysia (talk) 21:57, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Anatoly Karlin lying about his credentials[edit]

A great find by Bongolian. Karlin goes around the internet claiming he has a bachelor's of science degree to reinforce the image he's trying to sell of himself as an "intelligence researcher" and scientist when his degree is actually a bachelor of arts. I think the section about him being a fake journalist can be expanded on.

"I am a blogger, journalist, and independent researcher." https://ucberkeley.academia.edu/AnatolyKarlin

"Anatoly Karlin is a journalist and independent researcher who writes on topics such as Russian politics, geopolitics, psychometrics, and futurism." https://arbital.com/p/AnatolyKarlin/

Of course he isn't a journalist so he lies about this as well. He's a blog columnist for the far-right The Unz Review.159.65.31.156 (talk) 21:26, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

Stuff on Anatoly Karlin[edit]

Some more crazy comments he wrote can be quoted and put on his article:

{{quotebox|The end consequences of catastrophic AGW may well lead to the premature deaths of hundreds of millions or even billions of people by the end of the century. Some countries like Botswana and Bangladesh may vanish from the face of the earth, inundated by sand and water. That is not my problem. It is society’s and government’s and they don’t give a fuck so why should ordinary citizens? Besides, evil as it sounds, but AGW will have the hidden bonus of benefiting the country I’m originally from [Russia] – not only in relative, but also quite possibly absolute terms. Why should I care more about faceless Third Worlders? There’s of course no logical reason to do that. At least by NOT denying AGW realities I am already far more compassionate towards them than at least half of Americans. (Not that the hypocrites liberal and conservative will see it that way…) http://web.archive.org/web/20130719233102/http://akarlin.com/2012/06/23/how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-global-warming/#more-8274

He's also an apologist for rape, describing drunk men who rape women as not real rapists:

http://web.archive.org/web/20130511232345/http://akarlin.com/2013/02/23/much-ado-about-rape/#more-9699

In reality the deck is, if anything, stacked against innocent men and “pseudo-rapists” (i.e. the drunk fratboy who has sex with a consenting and equally drunk chick who really, really regrets it the morning after) because the pro rapists are almost by definition more proficient at it in the first place and would take care to cover their traces and create alibis. Based on the above rough numbers, it is a reasonable estimate that in the US probably more than 25% of convicted rapists are in fact innocent, while a good 25% or so are the type of “pseudo-rapist” described above. And of course while far from all rape convicts will go to jail, their criminal record and the sheer opprobrium associated with rape will generally create multiple problems for them for the rest of their lives such as finding a job, maintaining good relations with friends and family, and wooing romantic prospects. In fact even a false rape accusation can wreck lives because whereas women are allowed to remain anonymous, the accused does not have that same privilege.

Now I know this concept of the “pseudo-rapist” is going to get me flak from the feminists but what can you do. Alcohol lowers inhibitions. People might do stupid things when they’re drunk, but they never do things that they don’t actually want to do – including those which are highly embarrassing in sober retrospect. Whereas female behavior in modern times is highly slutty (not that I’m complaining! – at least personally…) this goes against the human evolutionary heritage – not to mention the superstructure created by the traditional private property system – which prizes female chastity. Men simply do not prize women who sleep around a lot, so they have a biological imperative to protect their sexual reputations in order to get committed, higher quality mates. In a tiny minority of cases – but which constitute a sizable number in proportion to the number of real rapes! – this means that making a false rape accusation is preferable to a woman than letting it be known that she happily slept with the poor beta/omega bastard while blind drunk.

Info[edit]

It might be relevant to update article Karlin supports the Russian invasion of Ukraine and has reinvented himself as a "journalist" on the conflict. Some media have been duped and are calling him a journalist when he's a racist white nationalist who attended a neo-Nazi conference with Richard Spencer:

Some of his pro-Russian invasion posts:

https://akarlin.substack.com/p/regathering-of-the-russian-lands?utm_source=url https://twitter.com/akarlin0/status/1496872217610960896 https://twitter.com/akarlin0/status/1496837284712181761

Bizarrely he has reinvented himself in the past few weeks as a "political centrist":

I'm a centrist, not so much right-wing.

Am extremely racist post he made not quoted on main page, I've blanked the racist slurs but they're extreme -

Several years back, in San Francisco, a black woman tried to solicit money from me, and began haranguing me about my racism when I walked past her. I told the fat **** bitch to *** off in precisely that language. She lapsed into a sort of slack-jawed shock for several seconds, allowing me to walk away unmolested. Clearly she had never been spoken to from a position of white privilege before. But my logic was, if I had to “serve the time” (to be harassed as a racist for not wanting to support her drug habits and/or teeming brood), why couldn’t I “commit the crime”? Even quite poor, less refined, recently war-torn white countries such as Serbia don’t **** like ****

I would like to thank RationalWiki for this article exposing Karlin for what he really is.

As noted above, he's reinvented himself as a journalist and is speaking on the topic of the Russian invasion of Ukraine to various media outlets without mentioning his political background and the fact he's a white nationalist.

I gave you autopatrolled status. You should be able to edit the page now. Bongolian (talk) 18:08, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Indophile?[edit]

Karlin the political grifter is now reinventing himself as a sinophile and indophile. Funny considering how only a few years ago he was claiming East Asian men have small penises and called Chinese people "chinks" and described Indians as low intelligence (I added quotes to page).Brisson (talk) 23:37, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

My understanding is that this Karlin guy changes his views every few months depending on his audience. He currently denies global warming and overpopulation but in a year will probably change his views on those topics. Less than 3 years ago he was a Richard Spencer fanboi but now criticizes anyone who associates with Spencer. I understand its totally normal to change ones viewpoint but this guy changes his views too often then denies he ever held his previous beliefs. He's admitted to being a troll so he may not actually believe in most of what he says. He has never worked in his life so much of it may be just trying to get traffic to his blogs to make money. Johns (talk) 17:39, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Open borders[edit]

Highly unlikely he really changed his views to be pro-immigration at beginning of this year. I looked at Anatoly Karlin's social media as recent as last year (as recent as last month) and found he was posting racist and anti-immigration comments. So if he did change his views he literally did this over night. I don't get the impression this guy has repudiated his alt-right/white nationalist ideology but is rebranding and relabelling it as an astute commentator recently pointed out at the "Karlin Community" on The Unz Review.Throw (talk) 03:22, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Anarchism fail[edit]

Anatoly Karlin was recently trying to reinvent himself and pose online as an anarchist but actual anarchists criticised and rejected him by pointing out his long history as a white nationalist and racist, so he removed the self-description:

  • Described himself as an "anarcho-transhumanist" on his Twitter page on 23 Feburary but removed this description two days later.

question[edit]

When and why was this made silver? There's no discussion in the talk page or the demote page, so why is this silver? I have no clue on the merits of the article on its own. --2600:4040:475E:F600:6C51:B128:6D8B:F525 (talk) 19:09, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Fake 'animal rights' activist[edit]

Not sure if Anatoly Karlin is trolling but he has laughably tried to reinvent himself as for 'animal rights' despite he eats mutton/lamb, lobster etc.

Some recent tweets:

And yes, amongst ruminants, I avoid goats as I do pork. The most intelligent in that class and have very distinct, mischievous but affectionate personalities. Sheep are just walking bleating meatbags so no problem with mutton/lamb.

Some made up BS about suffering being based on neurons so he eats lobsters, salmon and also chicken and beef, but not pork (seems completely arbitrary):

OK, fair enough. I am not a vegetarian - my main consideration is optimizing for capacity for suffering (which I take to be ~number of neurons) / high quality protein * taste, which I wrote about here https://akarlin.com/animals/, so I am mostly pescetarian, restrict chicken and beef, and strictly avoid pork. I don't think there's any moral issues with killing and eating 100,000 neuron lobsters (ants have 250,000) or salmon (most of which die gruesome deaths anyway) at all.

So buying and eating mutton/lamb/lobster/salmon/chicken/beef is animal rights? 161.35.41.3 (talk) 01:52, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

Anatoly Karlin now supports beastiality[edit]

There might be some progress on the animal consent problem pending AI making animal language more interpretable. If a cognitively complex, sexually mature animal (or alien species) genuinely wants to have sex with a human, there's no legitimate liberal argument against it.
