Geoffrey Simmons (1943–) is a medical doctor and proponent of intelligent design.

Biography[edit]

Simmons is a fellow at the Center for Science and Culture, part of the Discovery Institute. He is a board certified physician in internal medicine and the author of several books.[1]

Evolution[edit]

Simmons rejects evolution as he believes (similar to young earth creationists) there are billions of gaps in the fossil record and too many missing links for evolution to be true. He writes that the "only the existence of an all–powerful Designer can explain everything." He sometimes pretends to be a secular intelligent design advocate though his books are published by a Christian group and he has performed lectures as Christian Churches.[2][3] He debated evolutionary biologist PZ Myers in 2008.[4]
