This is happening. Mei III (talk) 18:55, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

I love these 40k-esque titles. ТyTalk. 18:55, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Mei III (talk) 18:57, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

OK this could take a while. Maybe we should divide the pages up, each take a certain letter, and come back here with lists of ones we can move? Mei III (talk) 18:59, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Purge all of this batch except poetry(move to CP-space), and 42. ТyTalk. 19:01, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Whoah, woah, hold up now. You know I like deleting articles in an arbitrary fashion as much as the next guy, but some of this stuff is funny/goofy/geeky and does alot to give the site/community its character. Are we tight on server space or something? P-Foster (talk) 19:05, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
We aren't killing all of it, all Mei is doing is adding the delete template. ТyTalk. 19:07, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
had the other discussion even finished? Totnesmartin (talk) 19:07, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I'm not actually deleting things. I'm using the delete template to form a list. I'll just revert afterwards. We'll probably move them to userspace, if anything. Should I stop? I was going to make a list in notepad, but this was quicker. Mei III (talk) 19:09, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Off topic, the deletion reason for Fun:60 is hilarious. ТyTalk. 19:10, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
It is, isn't it? sPaRkYCan we really trust the Blathereen? 19:11, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Um, I'd slow down if it were me. Even on the delete template. Mass deletion requires a bit more consensus, and I don't think being bold is appropriate here. sterile Playstation 20:01, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
We switched to a category. ТyTalk. 20:01, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
No offense, but "Things you should imagine Mei is pointing at" doesn't mean anything to the uninformed and gives the impression of unilateralism. Use the word deletion. sterile Playstation 20:03, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Could it be that certain members are trying to stir up HCM so that they'll have something to mutter about in RWW? --Scream!! (talk) 20:08, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
? ТyTalk. 20:10, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Maybe. sterile Playstation 20:14, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes, all 9 of us secretly run this wiki, and we are going to make it just like Conservapedia. Standards for Sysop rights, deletion of pages, removal of CP space and fun space, use 'em or lose 'em crat rights, LQT everywhere, deletion of WIGO:ASK and WIGO:CP implement night mode, set up a filter on all profanity, etc. ТyTalk. 20:19, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Wouldn't know. Never been a 'crat. Have been part of the mob, however. For a long time. sterile Playstation 20:20, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Wait, what the shit? sPaRkYCan we really trust the Blathereen? 20:33, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I disappear from time to time, and one of those times was the great increase in 'crats, followed up by the period of "we have too many 'crats." Hence, I ne'er became one. It's probably not worth it anyway. sterile Playstation 20:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I shucked off my cratship last year and didn't miss it. All I did was sysop a handful of users, of whom only Crundy stuck around more than a week afterwards. Totnesmartin (talk) 20:54, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Misunderstanding[edit]

Sorry for not explaining myself properly. I'm not doing anything unilaterally - I'm just making a list of pages, so we can talk about them. It's easier than splitting the discussion to every talk page. No permanent changes have been made. I'm not trying to provoke HCM. I'm not even suggesting deletion (the deletion template was to give those pages a category I could look at quickly, and has since been replaced with a category that doesn't look as alarming). Seriously, nothing has happened besides me making a list. Mei III (talk) 20:28, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

The loud one seems to hate even the concept of page deletion, judging from his prior actions. ТyTalk. 20:30, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

That's fine, Mei, and I didn't mean to imply that you were. sterile Playstation 20:34, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

I have here in my hand a list - a list of Fun that must be purged! Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 20:46, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
It's the night of the blunt things-that-are-meant-to-be-pointy-but-not-knives-because-we-did-that-one! Totnesmartin (talk) 20:57, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

I don't understand the point[edit]

Why? What seems to be the issue here? Ace of Spades

See Forum:Rename "Fun" space. It would have been nice if somebody had bothered to link to it already, so that this page made some sort of sense. ωεαşεζøίɗWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 20:46, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Weasel. Ace of Spades 20:51, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes there is an ongoing debate on one forum page while axes are being sharpened on this one. I despair. This is exactly the issue we went through recently when we wanted to wait 24 hours before doing this sort of stuff.--BobSpring is sprung! 21:06, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Bob M, I am addressing you directly, please actually read what I say:
1. All I have done is make a list of articles we should discuss as a community.
2. I have not deleted anything.
3. I am not proposing we delete anything.
4. I actually said all this before, at least once.
5. No one wanted to wait 24 hours before talking about moving pages.
I'm sorry if I sound annoyed, but it seems like you haven't read anything I've written besides the word "purge" in the forum title. There is no deletion spree happening. I was making a list. Stop panicking.Mei III (talk) 21:29, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
And where have I accused you, personally, of anything?--BobSpring is sprung! 02:26, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
I suppose you haven't. Maybe I misinterpreted you. However, I now have no idea what you were talking about. Who was 'axe sharpening' and violating the '24 hours' agreement if not me? Here is an excerpt from the deletion log:

That is all that happened before your 'I despair' comment. The rest was discussion (a good thing, actually, not something dangerous and contentious in itself), moving pages, and adding categories. Which part of that made you despair? Which part made you think people were ignoring the 24 hour waiting period? Mei III (talk) 16:31, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
(EC but hates LQT more) But this about clearing old funspace stuff, not new mainspace stubs. personally i've been on about doing this for bloody ages, so i'm glad the glory of RationalWiki that is Fun:60 is getting the appreciation it deserves. Totnesmartin (talk) 21:11, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I wish Mr Tyrannis would slow down a little. Ace of Spades 21:08, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
And Mei could be a little less useful in this arena. Ace of Spades 21:09, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I am being slow. ТyTalk. 21:12, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Wait a second, there are two pages now? Scarlet A.pngmoral 21:12, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh right, I see... let's try to not confuse the two, then. Scarlet A.pngmoral 21:12, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Musicians[edit]

Everything in Category:Musicians got moved to funspace by a small clique of editors who decided they didn't belong in mainspace. By & large these were never intended to be "fun" items. I suggest that the more significant ones (Bob Dylan, John Lennon, The Clash, etc.) be moved back to mainspace, & any short useless ones be either deleted or put in user/essay space, unless there is any real impetus to make them fun. Alright. ТyTalk. 21:25, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
